"The Gifu Grand Hotel offers a traditional Japanese experience featuring excellent showers and panoramic 12th-floor views of the Nagara River. While the hotel provides convenient luggage storage and is well-positioned for viewing the illuminated Gifu Castle at night, I experienced challenges with the breakfast buffet management. Specifically, the buffet runs out by 8:30 AM, yet the hotel still charges full price. I don't recommend the hotel buffet. Overall, the hotel serves as a comfortable, scenic base for local sightseeing, provided guests plan for meals elsewhere."
"This is an incredible hotel with tons of amenities and extremely helpful staff. We have traveled to many countries and this hotel staff wins the gold medal for hospitality! They helped with every aspect of our travel and stay.
We are a party of 6 with 3 river view rooms and they were all comfortable; and the onsen was spotless and enjoyable. You can also get free bikes to ride around the river with brand new paths and meander the city streets. I will certainly come back to Juhachiro again one day because of the sweet and kind staff."
"Two blocks from the train station and the bus terminals, very easy to take a day-trip. The hotel is big and the room is spacious, much large than a typical Japanese hotel's. It is in the area with many restaurants. "
"WiFi kept stalling every couple of minutes made it very frustrating, as I needed to research things for the rest of my trip. No under bed storage is a bummer but there was just enough space to leave the suitcase open on the floor. Room wasn't level or something because the bathroom door could not stay open and would silently close by itself all the time which led me to running into it many times. Great location across from the station, quiet, convenience store right next door, decent breakfast, friendly staff."
