The host was great and had everything ready for us when we arrived. The cabin was just as described, clean, and in great order. Would definitely stay here again!
The cabin was sooooo cute and totally private tucked in the woods. It had everything we needed for our short weekend stay. It was well-appointed and very comfortable. The host was very responsive. The smoke alarm was beeping when we arrived and he was there within moments to resolve it.
The property is beautiful and peaceful. The log cabin built by the owner is gorgeous and equipped with the essentials needed. I would love to stay here again for a longer period of time.
Beautiful, clean, and cozy cabin in the woods! We loved our warm stay while hiking the triple crown in cold weather. Thank you to our wonderful hosts! Hope to come back.
We had a great time at the cabin. The kids enjoyed feeding the trout and running up and down the path. The home was well stocked with essentials and was incredibly cozy. We would absolutely stay there again, especially this time of year.

The location was great for privacy and being out in nature without hearing cars - only the sounds of the trout splashing (feeding them was a highlight), and tall trees with fireflies lighting up the forest at night. The cabin was very modern and comfortable, with a full clean kitchen and air conditioning. It was the perfect place to stay while exploring trails along the AT in summertime.
Beautiful cabin with amazing attention to detail. Host was very responsive and welcoming. Very peaceful location to unwind, relax, and recharge. No better spot if hiking in the area and need a place to stay for the Triple Crown. Great experience and plan to return.
Four friends stayed in this perfect cabin. Outside, it was so serene and breathtaking with the leaves changing color. Inside, it was warm, cozy and super clean. We enjoyed our night away and then drove an easy 10 minutes to the parking lot at McAfee Knob trailhead for the sunrise. Highly recommend the cabin and the hike! Ronnie, the owner, was wonderful to work with. Thank you so much for having us Ronnie! Would love to bring my family here sometime soon.
Very nice cozy cabin, close to AT and trails, 30 minutes to Roanoke. Nicely appointed with kitchen items, seating etc. Driveway is steep and gravel with some concrete for traction at sharp turn and ok after a trip up and down but more of a challenge in the dark. Secluded and quiet and a great place to relax. Bring binoculars if you’re into birds, saw scarlet tanagers, ovenbirds, pileated woodpeckers +
Beautiful, new, well kept cabin in secluded area near our hiking locations. Met all of our needs for a quiet getaway. Ronnie was very responsive and timely to our text requests. Trout pond was an interesting and unexpected experience. Truly loved the cabin... kitchen facilities, outdoor porch swing, shower, sleeping arrangements, family room were all great. Nice loft, although we didn't use it. Very comfortable with A/C and ceiling fans. We definitely recommend this cabin for those looking for a quiet, secluded, getaway from the hustle and bustle, experience.
We rented this little cabin to day hike the thr triple crown in Virginia. This is the perfect spot, literally so close to all 3 trailheads ! The hikes were absolutely stunning.
The Cabin is small but actually feels big enuff to do anything and actually is super roomy. I love the flooring and the kitchen table. We did a 1000 piece puzzle on that as well
Ronnie and Ashley were super helpful when I reached out with a few questions. Book the cabin you won’t be disappointed. We also fed the trout. Super cool to watch them.
I hope to someday return to do more hiking on the AT
Cool cabin, peaceful and quiet. Very basic items were provided. Bring your own kitchen and bath items, like baking dish, spices, cooking oil, condiments, shampoo, conditioner, hair dryer, etc. Washer and dryer in the bathroom was convenient. You have to hand wash dishes since no dishwasher. Trout in the pond are used to being fed with fish food rather than hunting for natural food. Lol. Saw couple turkeys and couple deer around the pond. Lots of birds and squirrels.
This venue was beautiful. Isolated. Quiet. No neighbors that we ever saw/heard. Just to be aware. The driveway was gravel and just over a half mile, erosion has had its impact. Some vehicles may have trouble with significant rainfall. I can guarantee that between att and verizon you’ll have no service for the last several miles of the drive into this location. So be ready with your screenshots of how to access the home. It is quiet and beautiful. An incredible location and setting for a peaceful getaway. Surrounded by tulip poplars and oaks. We did not see the rolling hills of the mountains due to tree and foliage cover, but don’t be deterred. This peaceful retreat was everything I wanted for a fall weekend away. A beautiful porch, fridge with freezer and ice maker, slab island and concrete countertops. Large sink and electric oven we were able to cook everything we needed. Just don’t expect ex t a super close drive to eat out and a. Nearby grocery (15+ minutes) so come prepared. We were missing some essentials. Only one roll of toilet paper, no shampoo/conditioner/body wash/ seasonings/oils. Fortunately we brought all of those on our own. If you’re so inclined they did not provide any active tv service (but on a college football weekend) we had significant issues even accessing our own account. The hose was super responsive though and helped navigate the issue. I’d suggest bringing your own means to watch (firestick or similar.) I would without question come back here!
This cabin is the perfect location to use as a basecamp for hiking the Triple crown- all 3 trailheads were within about a 10 minute drive. We hiked every morning and were back to the cabin by early afternoon. Every night was finished off with a campfire and s'mores outside. The weather in early April was absolutely perfect!
This was a great secluded cabin to spend the weekend! It was an a short, scenic drive to the AT trailhead to hike to McAfee Knob, which was just beautiful! We even passed some thru hikers on the way back! It’s about 30 minutes to Roanoke where we got dinner and walked around. It’s a cute little town. There’s a great store there called Mast General Store that I got lost in because they have everything! The house itself is clean and was equipped for what we needed. They supplied a keurig coffee maker and had some pods too which was nice. And we loved the porch swing to sit and listen to the birds and the short rain storm we had. The host was very quick to answer a few questions I had as well. I would definitely recommend this property!
Lovely, secluded cabin very close to multiple trailheads. Trout pond has a waterfall and it is so peaceful to sit on the porch and listen to the water and look into the forest. Interior is nicely furnished and comfortable.
What a beautiful spot to land after our crazy hard Triple Crown AT hike! The cabin is impressive — a true log cabin but with stylish details throughout. Comfy beds, nice bookshelf selection, super hot shower, fast laundry, front porch swing, and trout pond with food available to feed them. Ronnie is a gracious host, providing guidance regarding our route and water availability, as well as the delicious and authentic Pancho Mexican restaurant nearby. We loved our brief but restful stay!
