The best time to go to Trinidad is during the dry season, which runs from January to May.During these months, you'll experience consistently warm, sunny weather with lower humidity and very little rain. This is ideal for exploring the island's natural beauty, relaxing on the beaches, and enjoying outdoor activities comfortably. The average daily temperature during this period hovers around 28-30°C (82-86°F), making it great for those looking to escape colder climates.Couples often find this period particularly appealing for a romantic getaway. The clear skies and calm seas are great for enjoying the island's many secluded beaches, such as Maracas Bay or Las Cuevas Bay, and for activities like snorkelling or boat trips. The drier weather also makes it easier to explore the lush rainforests and waterfalls without the interruption of heavy downpours. For travellers interested in cultural events, the dry season also hosts Trinidad's famous Carnival, typically held in February or early March. While this is a spectacular event, it's also the busiest and most expensive time to visit, so booking accommodation and flights well in advance is essential if you plan to attend.
