  • The little gem offers amazing views of the lake and the Sangre De Cristo mountain range. Relax on the spacious deck with grill or enjoy the outdoor sports of Colorado. With Cuchara Ski Basin now open, skiing is just a day trip away! Kayak and fish in the lake, hike, mountain bike or just enjoy the beautiful views. This is the perfect spot to relax for up to 2 adults. Inquire about pets. Come and enjoy Colorado outdoors. This is 20 min from downtown. The roads are dirt and a 4WD is not required but may make travel easier in inclement weather.

This cozy little cabin was the perfect get away for us. The location is quiet and private, which made for a very relaxing experience. This was our first Vrbo rental and it really set the bar for the next one.

The cabin was very nice and clean. The deck is beautiful and we thoroughly enjoyed the view of Trinidad Lake. Downtown Trinidad was super close and a Walmart made grabbing supplies convenient. Easy check in/check out. We had a great time.

Tranquility in the mountains

The small cabin was absolutely perfect for a long holiday weekend getaway. It was peaceful and cozy with a beautiful view of the lake, and while it felt remote, it was a short drive to basic shopping and restaurants. It was easy to communicate with our host, who made us feel welcome with some tasteful goodies.

Wedding guest getaway

This property was exactly what we needed when my husband and I were attending a wedding across the lake at the State Park. We arrived a few days before the wedding and the cabin was a perfect retreat. The kitchen was very well stocked with all the cooking utensils needed and the grill was easy to use and clean. The roads to get there can be rough but we were informed about that from the owner, as well as detailed driving instructions. Overall, we had a wonderful experience with gorgeous scenery.

We spent a long weekend in Trinidad to attend the Fancy Spider music fest and chose the cabin for our stay. The cabin is cozy with a wonderful back patio that is perfect for morning coffee or relaxing in the afternoon breeze. The welcoming goodie’s were a pleasant surprise especially the breakfast pastry and juice and the snacks. The drive up is rugged and it’s accurate to describe the cabin as remote. If you’re looking for a true getaway from Trinidad’s vibrant downtown this place is a great choice. You’ll be only 15 minutes from town and once you’re settled in it’s a relaxing place to relax and recharge. The bed is comfortable and the kitchen and bathroom are well laid out and functional. The interior seating is limited so if you’re interested in hosting guests it might be suitable for possibly 4 or maybe 6 people. Overall a real back to nature vibe yet not too far from town.

Perfect Hideaway!

My husband and I were looking for a hideaway with an amazing view! This cabin did not disappoint! We spent majority of our time on the patio and Trinidad State Park, because the weather was perfect! The cabin had just what we needed! It was our first experience with a Blackstone too and already miss grilling on it. Amy and Laurin were terrific hosts!

Small but efficient cabin, new and very clean interior. Requires a few miles of dirt/gravel road travel, but worth it in terms of quiet seclusion and spectacular views. Watch the sunset over the Spanish Peaks. Still with easy access to town. Host was very responsive. Kitchen well stocked, and welcome gifts were a nice touch. Definitely recommend.

Serenity on the Mountain Top

Oh my gosh, we're so fortunate to have found this place! It was absolutely perfect for us. Our host went above and beyond to make us feel special. From the flowers, snacks and wine to the plus towels, super comfy mattress and deliciously soft sheets, it was totally amazing. But, the deck and view of the lake topped everything. Sunrise to sunset, it never disappointed. The grounds and cabin are immaculately clean and brightened with baskets of flowers. We were in heaven on earth.

Great Spot w Tremendous Views of Lake Trinidad

We will definitely be returning to this hidden gem. Secluded at the top of a mountain but only a 10-12 minute drive to Trinidad. I can’t say enough about the gorgeous views of the lake. Coffee in the morning and cocktails in the evening on the back porch is a must. As shown in the photos, the house is a remodeled shipping container so it’s on the smaller side with one bedroom. Perfect for couples or solo travelers. Amy the owner was very responsive and helped me get connected to the wifi even though there was a big sign for it right in front of my face, lol. Highly recommend!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this cabin outside of Trinidad. It is very, very small, but it suited our needs. The hostess left snacks, fruit, muffins, and a bottle of wine for us when we arrived, which we really appreciated. We often sat out on the large covered deck to enjoy a great view of the lake, which was what we were aiming for. (You cannot enjoy this view from inside unless you are sitting at the kitchen bar. But that was ok with us, because we had pretty good weather for sitting outside when we were hanging around at the cabin.) We liked having the big screen TV to watch Netflix shows in the evenings. It was easy to get to and from Trinidad and the surrounding areas, and we enjoyed the view from several points on the road going up and down. We have an all-wheel drive vehicle, so we could manage the last few miles to the cabin from Trinidad without any issues, but I'm not sure how easy it would be for a regular car.
