Upon checking in, I couldn't receive a room key and was let in the room personally. Later in the evening, I was provided with a room key. I found 2 live roaches while bringing in my bags. There was no coffee maker in the room. I slept well and went to the beach, 30 mins away. It served it's purpose for me.
Took a chance on this property, given only 7 reviews on this platform. Happy to advise we we NOT disappointed! Great staff/local family run. Very friendly, and responsive. Room was clean, beds were comfy, shower was hot. Great price, safe area, would stay again.
Miss Jessica was lovely. She’s working real hard to make her Southerlodge a great place for travelers. Our room was super clean. The water pressure was amazing. We had a nice long, hot showers. We felt super safe and it was a perfect respite before our long drive. Highly recommend if you’re doing a northeast to Florida trip if you could make it to Townsend Georgia. I wish her nothing but best of luck.
The property is beautiful, spacious, and clean; it has plenty of room for entertaining and having a great time with a large family. The beds are comfortable and clean.
Front desk staff is extremely welcoming! Extremely convenient location off of I-95. Great value for what you pay. If you need a place to lay your head, this is it! Use the money you save a splurge on a nicer room later on in the trip guilt free!
The rooms were exceptionally clean and the staff was outstanding. They are just taking over this hotel and they’re doing an excellent job. I had a slight problem trying to figure out the TV. They came over to my room immediately and helped me resolve it and I had a nice quiet day, and my service dog was allowed. Will definitely stay again on my way back down to Florida.
Managers are amazing! Hotel is currently under renovations but our room was nice and cozy! Management was extremely helpful answering any and all of my questions from the hotel to the town as I am new to the area! Not sure how many rooms are actually available because of the renovating in progress but I would definitely recommend and I will be back if I need a room while in the area again!

This is an extremely low budget hotel. Apparently it is under new ownership and is experiencing some growing pains. A lot of the furniture and fixtures are worn out, and the new ownership hasn’t been able to replace and update.
The room itself was clean. The staff was friendly and polite, but stretched a bit thin. One of the cleaners had quit and so the receptionist was busy cleaning rooms and changing sheets. There was a sign with a number to call, but no answer from the number.
With some work this could become a great family friendly getaway. It’s located half an hour from St Simons Island, Brunswick, Jekyll, Darien and a lot of other great places on the Georgia coast… but also only an hour out from Savannah.
