This rustic little hideaway was perfect. The lake is peaceful, with plenty of wildlife. The bed was very cozy and everything you need is there for you. It's within 10 minutes to Glace Bay and near several beaches. We didn't get to experience the hospitality of the owner because he was away, which would have added a great personal touch to our experience. I suggest bringing food for the ducks. The real winner here is being able to sit right on a river deck, ducks and geese everywhere, frogs playing the banjos, beavers swimming by (never seen a beaver in my life before) and woodpeckers constantly stopping at the feeder. The property is mainly one level, with two tiny steps to the bathroom and a tiny stop to the front door. Shower enclosure, no tub. Rustic, charming property on a small pond with ducks and other wildlife. Owner has done all the renovations to the property himself. The bathroom counter and kitchen counters are slightly raised, which I found very comfortable. Nicely furnished deck with BBQ, which overlooks the duck pond. Patio doors open onto the deck. Fully equipped kitchen. Comfortable bed.
