1. Hotel Cueva del Fraile

Cuenca

"The property was tranquil and located within easy driving distance of the historic Cuenca district. The room was rather stark with a television that glitched quite a bit but we were not into the room that much. Despite the uninspiring interior decor of the room, the beds were comfortable and the bathroom was clean. If you’re not looking for anything fancy or somewhat luxurious, this would be a good place to stay."

"Victoria is kind and helpful and the property is a beautiful rambling half hostel but with beautifully appointed rooms and upholstered walls and a treasure of things to look at in common areas. Beautiful old buildings and grounds. Our shower ran cold to cool and was confusing to control, but it was hot and we didn’t ask about it so can’t complain too much there. Pool was also lovely and clean."

Parador de Cuenca

10/10 Excellent

"Excellent stay. Perfect parking. Clean room, etc. But the location is the best—one of the best Paradores. Don't miss it."

Apartamentos Rascacielos San Martin

10/10 Excellent

"What an excellent find. The apartment is huge and extremely well equipped. Really exceeded our expectations. I would definitely book it again when in Cuenca. It's also conviniently located at the entrance to the old town. The communication with the owner/ property manager was excellent from start to finish. Highly recommended"

Mirador Del Rey

10/10 Excellent

"This place is absolutely amazing! From the moment we arrived, we were completely in love with it. It is beautiful, charming, spacious, spotless, and full of character. The architecture and decoration are stunning—you can truly feel the care and thought that went into every detail. It is even more beautiful in person than in the pictures. The location could not be better. It is literally a 2-minute walk from the cathedral and within walking distance of everything. We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect place to stay. And then there is Ana… ❤️ She deserves a review of her own. She is one of those rare people who makes you feel genuinely cared for and welcomed. She is incredibly kind, thoughtful, attentive, and warm, and she went above and beyond to make our stay special. Of course, hosting is a business, and at the end of the day, that is how most people see it. But with Ana, you can truly feel that it goes beyond business. She genuinely cares about her guests, about making them comfortable, happy, and at home. She made us feel welcomed, embraced, and truly looked after. Her kindness made an already wonderful stay even more memorable. Everything in the house reflects the same level of care and quality. The beds and pillows are incredibly comfortable, and the towels and other amenities are excellent quality. Every detail feels intentional. We absolutely loved our stay and would come back in a heartbeat. If you are considering staying here, book it—you will not regret it!"

What is the best area to stay in Torrecilla?

The best area to stay in Torrecilla is within the historic centre, particularly around the Plaza Mayor and the streets immediately surrounding it.

This central area is the heart of Torrecilla, known for its traditional architecture and a relaxed atmosphere. The Plaza Mayor itself is a spacious square, often bustling with locals and visitors, surrounded by arcaded buildings that house cafes and local shops. Streets like Calle Real and Calle Mayor, which branch off the Plaza, are pedestrian-friendly and lead to many of the town's key landmarks. It's a very walkable district, making it convenient to explore on foot.

Couples looking for a romantic and cultural getaway will find this area particularly appealing. You'll be steps away from historic sites such as the Church of San Juan Bautista and the remains of the old town walls. Evenings can be spent enjoying a meal at a local restaurant or a drink in one of the taverns dotted around the square, experiencing the town's laid-back pace.

For families, staying near the historic centre also offers convenience. Many holiday rentals and hotels in this area are well-equipped, often featuring amenities like kitchens and multiple bedrooms, which can be ideal for longer stays.

When is the best time to go to Torrecilla?
