Instructions on how to check in and check out were clear, the host introduced himself and gave us hiking/dining recommendations (all of which were perfect for us), and the house was clean. We stayed in the Golden Dawn suite and used the pull out bed provided. It was very comfy! There were no concerns with our stay. He showed us around and talked with us about the area and places we may want to visit. He was very cordial. Our suite was comfortable and had all the amenities we needed for our stay. With 2 teenagers the space was needed. The street was on a quiet dead-end road, which we appreciated. The suite was clean and comfortable. There was a lot of room to spread out; my wife and I enjoyed a drink on the balcony most days. The location was perfect for us, but it depends what you are looking for. It was a very short walk to a small shopping area (Tacofino, Wildside Grill, an amazing ice cream store, a small convenience store, and others), a short walk to Mackenzie beach, and a little walk to the local brewery and a fish market. It was a longer walk (but easily doable) to town of you like to be in a be in a busier area, but the distance was perfect for us. The owner/manager, Ken, was very helpful. He ran into us a few times when we were walking and would check if we needed anything or needed any tips to enjoy the community.
