The best area to stay in Tilmi is in one of the guesthouses within the historic Kasbah, particularly those around the main square. This area is the heart of Tilmi, offering a glimpse into traditional Moroccan life. The Kasbah is a fortified village with narrow, winding alleyways and homes built from rammed earth, many of which have been converted into comfortable guesthouses. You'll find yourself surrounded by the unique architecture and the daily rhythms of the community. The main square, often bustling with local activity, is a central point for both residents and visitors.Couples looking for a distinctive and tranquil escape will find the Kasbah particularly appealing. The guesthouses often feature beautifully decorated rooms, traditional courtyards, and rooftop terraces with views of the palm groves and the Drâa Valley. It's a setting that encourages relaxation and offers a deep connection to the local culture.

The best time to visit Tilmi is during the spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) months. These periods offer the most pleasant weather, with warm days and cool evenings, making it ideal for exploring the region's natural beauty and historical sites. You'll find the temperatures comfortable for outdoor activities like hiking through the Atlas Mountains or visiting the local kasbahs without the intense heat of summer or the chill of winter. For those planning to explore the desert landscapes, like the nearby Drâa Valley, spring and autumn are particularly good. The moderate temperatures allow for comfortable camel treks and evenings under the stars. You'll avoid the extreme heat of July and August, which can make daytime excursions less enjoyable. If your trip includes a focus on cultural events, it's worth noting that some local festivals, often tied to agricultural cycles, occur in spring and autumn.
