You can easily walk to the main shopping road (about 600 meters) and you have a subway line right in the building (about 50 meters). The hotel is a standard Holiday Inn, with the standard rooms and the standard breakfast. The breakfast is included and consists of Chinese and Western breakfast, which is very convenient. The rooms are pretty big and the bathroom as well. The hotel could need some renovation at some places but overall it's in a good condition. The price is very good especially for the location. Other hotels in downtown Tianjin are much more expensive. The staff is nice and tries to be as helpful as possible, but the communication in English can be difficult at some points. But if the staff doesn't understand English, they try to use translation programs and you can always find a solution. The room service is done by robots so there is no need to complain about that in any kind of way. The room cleaning was done very thoughtfully. This is the most disappointed stay I had. Obviously the room was not cleaned properly and the carpet smelled bad and dirty. This is not acceptable at this price. You could either pay more to a higher star hotel for a better service or pay less to a budget hotel to save money.
