Top Thorikón Hotel Reviews

SEAVIEW Cityscape Hotel

10/10 Excellent

"Lovely clean and spacious room with comfortable bed. Breakfast was vast and delicious!"

Holiday Inn Athens Attica Av. Airport West by IHG

10/10 Excellent

Amarilia Hotel

"Very good breakfast. Convenient to Athens Airport by car"

Aethon Airport Project Hotel by GK Hospitality Group

"Good location for early flight out. Modern and spacious. Only complaint was bottom sheet on bed wasn’t big enough to cover the bare mattress."

Divani Apollon Palace & Thalasso

"The staff were outstanding. So helpful. Katerina at the pool helped my wife when she slipped. We thank her for being so kind. Reception was great. The parking gues were so helpful. A very nice experience."

Nestel Near Athens Airport

8/10 Good

"Good hotel, very clean, but location is not the best, still far from the airport"

The Margi

10/10 Excellent

"The Margi Hotel is in prime location close to Astir Beach and the marina. The hotel is clean and well maintained albeit the double room is on the smaller side. Apparently we got an upgrade to a double room. Interestingly that is exactly what I booked so unclear where the upgrade was. Breakfast was great for boutique hotel, definitely get the orange juice and the margi farm grown tomatoes and eggplants. When we arrived, we were instantly greeted and assisted by the doormen who consistently greets us each time we see them. They definitely made us feel welcomed. Our luggages were quickly and efficiently delivered to our room within minutes of our arrival Front desk staff were somewhat stand off ish. Thought it’s their job to make guests feel welcomed? Hmmm. Not a deal breaker at all just comparing to our other stays on the trip at lesser hotels Ultimately, we enjoyed our stay there for its location and planned our days around the area. So would definitely return one day"

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Thorikón?

The best area to stay in Thorikón is around the Thorikos Ancient Theatre and the nearby coastline. This area offers a convenient balance of historical significance and coastal relaxation. The Thorikos Ancient Theatre, one of the oldest in Greece, is a key landmark, and the surrounding archaeological site provides a fascinating glimpse into ancient history. The coastline here features a mix of organised beaches and more secluded coves, superb for enjoying the Aegean Sea.For couples seeking a blend of historical exploration and romantic seaside moments, staying near the Thorikos Ancient Theatre is ideal. You'll be within easy reach of the archaeological site for morning visits and can spend your afternoons relaxing on the nearby beaches, enjoying the serene coastal views.Families will also find this area appealing due to the proximity to both historical sites that can spark children's imaginations and beaches for swimming and playing.

When is the best time to go to Thorikón?

The best time to visit Thorikón for pleasant weather and fewer crowds is during the shoulder seasons of April to early June and September to October.During these months, the weather is warm and sunny, with average temperatures ranging from 20°C to 28°C, making it ideal for exploring the archaeological sites and enjoying the outdoors without the intense heat of mid-summer. The sea is also warm enough for swimming, and the natural beauty of the area is at its peak. Travellers will find the region less busy than during the peak summer months, offering a more tranquil experience. For those looking for a lively option and don't mind higher temperatures and larger crowds, July and August offer the warmest weather, with temperatures often exceeding 30°C. This is the peak season for beach activities and water sports, and most local businesses and tavernas are fully operational. However, accommodation prices can be higher, and popular spots will be more crowded.Conversely, the winter months from November to March are cooler and wetter, with temperatures typically between 10°C and 15°C. While the archaeological sites are still accessible, some seasonal businesses may be closed, and the weather might not be suitable for beach activities.
