Just outside of Lake Myvatn their is a cave with a natural hot pool in it. The water was so crystal clear you could see straight to the bottom. It was such a peaceful place and I hated to have to leave. #Adventure #photocontest

Dettifoss is a powerful tour de force with an extraordinary rush of foamy water spiraling down a cliff. The roaring waterfall drops a distance of 147 feet (45 meters) and has a width of 328 feet (100 meters). Hike around the picturesque region to reach the waterfall and admire its vastness.

5. Dimmuborgir

The lava fields of Dimmuborgir are known for their otherworldly shapes and formations. Since its volcanic caves resemble collapsed human ruins, the site was given the Icelandic name for “Dark Forts.” It is a unique structure in the world, as the only known site with this type of landmass.

Krafla Volcano is a type of collapsed volcano, known as a caldera. See the hardened lava, stemming from one of Iceland’s most remarkable and active volcanoes, stretching across 12 miles (19 kilometers) of spectacular terrain. Its highest peak reaches a height of 2,683 feet (818 meters) and its depth sinks to 1.2 miles (2 kilometers).
