Private cottage nestled in center of the Vineyard

"The property is lovely, with a large front and back yard and access to a nice meadow walk. The hosts paid attention to the details: well equipped with everything needed and more, excellent and clear property guide, and comfortable space inside. The location was excellent for reaching all parts of the island easily. I appreciated the warm welcome including a personal note and pint of ice cream in the freezer. Highly recommended for solo or couple travelers!"
Sanctuary House: An ocean-view farmhouse retreat

"My family loved the location and beautiful views. The house is an expanded Cape with three smaller bedrooms upstairs that share a small bathroom, plus a larger primary bedroom with an attached bath. The beds were comfortable, but the pillows, bedding, and towels could use a refresh.One challenge was the older upstairs area, where the window AC units were not properly sealed. As a result, quite a few bugs made their way into the bedrooms and bathroom. A vacuum was provided, which helped, but it was still unsettling, especially for some members of our group.Another inconvenience was the water filtration system, which cycled during the night restricting the flow of any water. Not being able to flush toilets or use water normally at night was unexpected and made things less convenient for our group.The outdoor space was our favorite feature. We really enjoyed the fire pit, hot tub, and outdoor shower. Access to Lambert's Cove Beach was another great perk, although the pass only allows walk-on access. If you're visiting during peak season, plan on using Uber or paying for parking. We visited during the off-season and were fortunate to find parking available.Overall, we had a nice stay and appreciated the location and outdoor amenities. Unfortunately, the home did not feel as clean or well-maintained as we had hoped, so while we enjoyed our visit, we would not choose to stay here again."

"House was nice, clean, beds comfortable. It’s quite a bit down a one lane dirt road that has no street sign. We went head to head 3 times with cars coming the other way which required backing down the narrow road backwards. Two issues: 1) the mixer valve for the shower works but needs to be replaced; 2) the water has a very metallic taste. Would be nice if there was a gallon jug of water in the refrigerator. Parking space is a bit away though it appears that the driveway used to go up to the house. There is no explanation for not being able to use the driveway next to the house, just a threat that they will fine you if you move the rocks that block the driveway."

Historic Captains House - Newly Renovated Primary Bathroom and Upgraded Kitchen

"Well - where to begin? Everything about this house was outstanding. We've stayed here before, so we knew what to expect, and of course we were not let down. The house is terrific - very comfortable for families, kids - absolutely outstanding screened in porch where we spent so much time, and ate almost every meal. Everything is comfortable, the beds are excellent and the kitchen well-stocked. In addition, this is an excellent location - especially for families with kids - no need to drive everywhere!There's a playground across the street, (great!) library around the corner, a wonderful sculpture garden/gallery around the corner (my favorite place on the Vineyard!) and a store with almost everything a great takeout place for breakfast and lunch! AND, to top it all, the owners are wonderful - so easy to work, very responsive. I can go on and on, but I think you get the picture!"

"This was such a beautiful home. It felt warm, cozy, and welcoming, and you could tell a lot of love and thought went into creating the space. The location was perfect, close to the airport and near enough to enjoy all the action, but far enough away to have peace and quiet when you wanted it.The hosts were excellent! Communication was quick, polite, considerate, and accommodating throughout our stay. We truly enjoyed ourselves and would absolutely book with them again. Highly recommend!"
