Littomore Suites Bathurst

8/10 Good
"Upgraded to a 1st floor 1-bedroom unit which was excellent. However, there were some air conditioning units outside the bedroom window that were very noisy all through the night (and day). Also the noise of both adjacent units running showers was extremely loud."

"Clean, easy to find and the lady at the front desk was super lovely, and efficient. It was very cold that evening, and she had taken the time to turn the warm air on before we arrived so the room was toasty warm as soon as we stepped inside."

"Place was amazing. Very well kept for it's age. Hot shower, comfy bed. No need for staff to be on hand. Very effective system for guests. Kitchenette was perfect but the shared kitchen would be sufficient. Price is very reasonable. Highly recommend. "

8/10 Good
"Clean room and very easy check in and check out process. Family suite online was depicted with a small dining/communal area and kitchenette and this was not true - there was a hallway, two bedrooms and the bathroom with no small communal area. A microwave and kettle were inside the wardrobe of one bedroom. All beds had electric blankets and extra blankets provided but only one bedroom had an aircon so the second bedroom and bathroom were much colder."

Frequently asked questions

Which area of The Rocks is best to stay in for cheap hotels?
For budget-conscious solo travellers looking for cheap hotels in The Rocks, focusing on areas slightly outside the immediate heart of the historic precinct, yet still within easy walking distance, is your best bet. While The Rocks itself is known for its boutique and upscale accommodations, you can find better value by looking towards the fringes.Consider areas bordering The Rocks, such as the northern end of the Sydney central business district (CBD) or around Circular Quay. These locations offer a good selection of more moderately priced hotels and hostels. Many of these establishments are just a short stroll from The Rocks' attractions, allowing you to immerse yourself in the historic atmosphere without the premium price tag. You'll also benefit from excellent public transport links from Circular Quay, making it easy to explore other parts of Sydney.Another strategy is to look for accommodation that might not be directly in The Rocks but is immediately adjacent and well-connected. For example, some hostels and budget hotels in the Millers Point area, just west of The Rocks, can offer a more wallet-friendly option while still being very close to the action.
How much does a budget hotel in The Rocks cost?
Budget hotel prices in The Rocks vary, but you can find a great deal from £53 on Expedia. To find the cheapest budget hotels, be flexible with your dates. Sort your search results by "Price: low to high" to see our lowest rates.
When is the most affordable time to visit The Rocks?
The most affordable time to visit The Rocks is generally during the shoulder seasons, specifically autumn (March to May) and spring (September to November), as these periods avoid the peak summer prices and the cooler winter dips. You can wander the cobblestone streets without feeling rushed, discovering hidden laneways and appreciating the architecture at your own pace.Even during the shoulder seasons, there are plenty of free activities to enjoy. Take a stroll through the Royal Botanic Garden, just a short walk from The Rocks, offering stunning harbour views without costing a penny. Explore the Museum of Contemporary Art Australia (MCA), which often has free exhibitions, or simply soak in the atmosphere of Circular Quay, watching the ferries come and go.
Is The Rocks a budget-friendly destination?
While The Rocks, Sydney, is generally considered more expensive due to its prime harbour-side location and historical significance, travellers can absolutely experience its charm on a budget with some smart planning. For solo travellers and couples, accommodation can be a significant cost, so consider staying in nearby areas like Haymarket or Ultimo, which offer more affordable hotels and hostels, often just a short walk or quick public transport ride away. Sydney's public transport, including ferries, trains, and buses, is efficient and can be paid for with a contactless card or an Opal card, helping you save on taxi fares.Much of The Rocks' appeal comes from its free attractions. Couples can enjoy leisurely strolls through its historic laneways, soak in the stunning views of Sydney Harbour and the Sydney Opera House, and browse the weekend markets without spending a penny. Solo travellers can also take advantage of the free walking tours that often depart from the area, offering fascinating insights into its past. When it comes to dining, look for local pubs offering lunch specials or 'happy hour' deals. Many cafes also provide reasonably priced sandwiches and pastries. Packing your own snacks and drinks can also reduce daily expenses.
What free activities should we do in The Rocks?
The Rocks offers a surprising number of fantastic free activities, making it an excellent destination for budget-conscious solo travellers.Begin your exploration with a self-guided walking tour, soaking in the historic atmosphere of Sydney's oldest neighbourhood. Wander through the charming cobblestone laneways, discover hidden courtyards, and admire the beautifully preserved historic architecture. For incredible city and harbour views, a stroll across the iconic Sydney Harbour Bridge Pylon Lookout offers breathtaking vistas without the ticket price for the bridge climb itself. The Rocks Markets are a must-visit on weekends, even if you're just browsing. You can immerse yourself in the vibrant local culture, enjoy live street performances, and sample free food tasters from various stalls. For a dose of history and art, numerous public art installations are scattered throughout the area, offering captivating photo opportunities and insights into the past.
Can I cancel my budget hotel reservation on Expedia?
Many Expedia hotel reservations are refundable, provided that you cancel before the hotel's cancellation deadline. This is often within 24-48 hours of your scheduled arrival.
