"Comfortable bed, extremely clean room, professional and friendly staff, beautiful garden setting, and centrally located both for driving and walking. I love that I can walk 1 block to Segerstrom and 2-blocks South Coast Plaza for arts, shopping, and food or drive 10-minutes to the Newport Back Bay for a morning walk or run along the nature preserve. Amazing restaurant (including room service - get the molten chocolate lava cake!) with attentive staff. I am a repeat customer for trips into OC, both business and pleasure. I've stayed here at least 4 times in the last two years by myself and with my husband and young adult daughter. Highly recommended!"

"This is our third stay at an Ayres property, this location wasn’t as modern, clean, or welcoming the one in Lake Forest. We stayed in the ‘suites’ building, which may be more dated than the main building. Everything felt old and ready for a refresh-including the carpet, heavy velvet drapes and slippery jacuzzi tub/shower. Road, upper floor and airport noise was notable in our room. Bed was okay, king suite was huge, but really a waste of space. Staff was fine-not super welcoming, perhaps because I booked with Expedia? I would try a different hotel if I find myself back in the area again."

"An older motel, but well kept. Room was clean and well maintained. I only had two issues, really more of inconveniences. First, there was no place to hang any clothing, not even a hook on the wall. Second, all the lighting was overhead, there wasn't a bedside lamp. One overhead light did have a dimmer which softened the effect. Overall, it was great value for the cost and I'd definitely stay here again."

"The room was supposed to be a non smoking room. It reeked, with a newborn baby and a 2 year old they tried to spray the room with downy to remove the odor and we said that was unacceptable. What kind of response is that? We asked for a room change and they didnt have one, so we asked for our deposit and refund and they didnt give us back our money. That placed should be visited by the city because the sanitation in that environment is not acceptable."

"I enjoyed the hotel. I do not like rooms that are close to the hotel HVAC system. Room 672 looks out over the parking garage & the hotel HVAC, I would def request a different Side of the hotel to avoid the and food smells from hotel kitchen blowing into the room. other than that, I would definitely stay again. I am super picky about hotels and prefer hotels with balcony to get fresh air."

"Overall the room was great and the internal ambience was good. For the price we paid, expected better toiletries and facilities. Though the room was well kept, I cannot say the same for the external ambience and cleanliness. Though the renovation is ongoing, they could have at least kept the stairs and the walkway clean. Staff were very friendly."
