Hotel 1550 appeared to be rated 3-Star. From that and some of the positive reviews online we expected a certain standard. After the initial positive check-in at the front desk the passage to the room was like entering a time warp back to the ‘80s or ‘90s, the stand of vending machines in lieu of any sort of restaurant facility, goods type snail paced elevator up to a stuffy airless room offering barely space for two Queen size beds let alone up to four adults and their luggage. Antiquated noisy AC, characterless bathroom.

Not many stayed here yet they placed people right above us even after I said we had to get up early for surgery. The upstairs guest walked around all night taking showers and moving furniture all night. They Don’t clean the chairs, food debris in and under cushions. 1/2” crack under front door and cracks around door, shower rod not fastened to wall curtain keep sliding open. Wouldnt let me check in for my second night when I arrived for my first night. I told him I’d be in surgery and not able to by 11.

We loved our stay at the White Swan Inn when we were visiting San Francisco for two evenings. The location is perfect. We were able to easily walk to areas such as Chinatown and the Cable Car Museum. We were only a couple of blocks from public transportation and rode the bus, train, and cable car. We didn't have to use our car at all during our stay. As soon as we arrived, Cody was a great asset to our stay. He gave us such helpful information as to where to eat, how to get around, and even where to park for a better deal. He really enhanced our stay. The room was large and very nicely decorated. We enjoyed the wine and nibbles the first evening and breakfast both mornings. The inn was quiet and had great amenities, such as microwave, refrigerator, robes, and even a box fan that really helped to circulate air. I'm very pleased with our stay and would definitely recommend this to any one staying in the area.
