Top Terschelling Island Hotel Reviews
WestCord Hotel Schylge
"Very good breakfast, spacious room. The traffic noise can be quite loud if the window is open (there's no air conditioning) but otherwise it's very quiet. Secure cycle parking if hiring a bike."
Van Heeckeren Hotel
"Room was clean and comfortable, helpful staff, delicious breakfast"
WestCord Strandhotel Seeduyn
"Had a lovely time here - very nice pool, was even able to swim some laps at 8am. Nice to be right by the beach."
Westcord Aparthotel Boschrijck
"Very comfortable place to stay. This was my 3rd stay there in as many years. The apartment style units, with kitchen, spacious family room and separate bedrooms makes it a great option for traveling with family. Staff is very helpful and the breakfast buffet is worth including."
Fletcher Hotel-Restaurant Amelander Kaap
"Great place to stay with a family. Very quiet and casual. Good breakfast, pool was great for kids. Bike rental on site. Stairs to the upstairs bedrooms were a little steep and one bedroom a little small, but everything worked out great."
Hotel Oepkes
"Great location and lovely peaceful terrace! Very helpful and friendly owners and staff. Very good value too!"
5-Star Park Texel
"A fine accommodation"

Pocket Guide: Friesland Terschelling Island Hotels
Terschelling pulls in around 50,000 revellers each year for the immensely popular Oerol-Festival, with performances from musicians and theatre groups from all over. Beside the festival, the island also has stunning natural beauty. Take the Boschplaat for example, a natural area that is a European nature reservation and a place where dozens of birds come to breed.
West-Terschelling
West-Terschelling is where you’ll find most of the hotels. Visit the Brandaris (1594), the oldest lighthouse of the Netherlands. It nearly burned down in 1666 when the English set the whole town on fire. Nowadays, there is always someone at the 53 metre high building – unfortunately visitors can not go inside.
Visit Torenstraat and Boomstraat, two popular locations for shopping and eating. Another beautiful place is the marine, filled with boats each summer and is a stop for sailors making the trip from England to Germany (and back again). Take a boat from Rederij Doeksen as well as EVT to Terschelling.
Behind West-Terschelling you will find the highest point of the island: Kaapsduin (31,5 metres above sea level). There is still a broadcasting point there that was used during World War II.
In the eastern part of Terschelling you will find the Boschplaat, an impressive area that has been named a European nature reservation. It is almost 10 kilometres long and a breeding area for about 60 species of birds. You will also find a lot of Alder here, planted to protect the former grain fields.
