About this property

Tellico River Retreat

  • Completely unplug after touring the Cherohala Skyway or hiking at the falls in our private rustic cabin on the water just two minutes off the world-famous Cherohala Skyway on Tellico River. This queen bed one-room cabin with a full bathroom has all of the essentials you need for a quiet couples getaway or small family trip. Enjoy the scenic views of the river on the deck overlooking the water, or walk down to the river to relax by the firepit and build a fire.

    The space
    This is a small cabin with kitchenette with all of the basic essentials to have meals at home. All linens are provided. There is a queen bed that sleeps two, a pullout couch that could sleep two children or two small adults, a small table and chairs, and a full bathroom with tub. We really want our guests to relax and enjoy the outdoors on the deck with table and chairs, and a new firepit down by the river. Dogs are allowed for a $50 fee each. No smoking in the cabin.

This little cabin is exactly as pictured. It was pet friendly, we had our 2 dogs with us during our stay and the yard was big enough they were able to get out and run around on their leashes. It was clean and tiddy and the deck overlooking the river was amazing! Inside, the bed was comfortable and it has a comfy couch and they even have a few games there to play. The kitchen was stocked with a few pots and pans for cooking on the cooktop along with glasses, cups, plates and silverware. If you are looking for somewhere to disconnect and hit the refresh button this is the place to do it, It was so relaxing and peaceful.

Perfect getaway place!

This is the cutest little cabin and the scenery is beautiful! I love that it’s right on the water and close to everything. We will definitely be back!

Cabin retreat

This is just what we needed, great little cabin that feels private on the balcony, private river access and no signal or wifi. Great for a get away. They owners had games and enough kitchen space to cook meals and just hangout. Great family time, the kids has a blast swimming in the river.

Nice spot, but some maintenance needed

The location is excellent - just a minute from town and the Cherohala Skyway. The waterfront is nice, and coffee on the deck in the morning is great. The cabin has all the necessities, but is very basic. As others say there's no TV or wifi, though cell service is passable (Verizon), but that's not why you come to a place like this. As for some negatives, I noticed the same septic smell another reviewer mentioned, and the air conditioner is fairly loud and has a hard time keeping up even at night (I stayed there in August). Letting in some fresh cool air in the mornings helped on both counts. A little TLC would take this place from good to great.

I loved the property and the location. It was a slice of heaven and what we were looking for for our family get away to visit family in the area. The only thing I feel that needs addressed is the cleanliness of the cabin in general. There were signs of pests,dirty dishes put back as clean (could be the guests reasonability for cleaning dishes but a simple look over by the cleaner and it could have been addressed) along with the spare pillow and blanket not being clean. It was like they were folded up and put in the bag without being washed because they were visibly dirty. I did not contact the owner as we were only in for a couple days and had a very busy schedule so I did not give them a chance to replace the spare linens. I do believe they would have fixed the issue given a chance because their communication before and after was attentive. This cabin was very affordable and I don't expect things to be perfect just a little cleaner. Over all we enjoyed our stay and would book again.

The property was charming and peaceful, with a balcony overlooking the river that made it especially refreshing and serene. While the interior is on the smaller side, it comfortably accommodated our family of four—even with an extra blow-up mattress for one of the kids. The hosts were incredibly responsive; when we accidentally got locked out, they quickly arranged maintenance for us. We would definitely stay here again.

Great little cabin

We were in the area for some spring whitewater paddling and this little cabin was perfect. Right off of main street and just a short drive into the mountains. Would definitely stay here again!
