You are only a few minutes walk to the very popular Great lake & Lions walk & cycleway. \- Secure storage for holiday equipment (Bring the Bikes/Jetski) \- Big private decked area. \- 1 min walk to Richmond Heights shopping center\`s. \- 5 minutes’ drive town Centre. This Bach is suitable for families or couples on a golf, shopping, fishing, skiing or sightseeing trip or just for the perfect getaway. The entire space is yours to use. It is very private with a huge sunny sheltered deck. In the Bach you will find bedroom 1 with a queen bed, bedroom 2 with a bunk/ double bottom and single top and another single bed. The bathroom provides a vanity shower and toilet. We use hire serviced linen to provide our Airbnb guests high quality linen. All beds are made up with a towel and face cloth provided for each guest. If you require extra towels for the beach or hot pools, please bring your own Fully stocked fire wood for winter months. Panel heaters and heat pump. Plus open fire keeps Bach warm over the winter months. PLEASE NOTE – This property is STRICTLY not suitable for parties, gatherings, events, or loud groups. The whole home is yours to access and enjoy including the garage closest to the house. The washing machine is in the garage. Beyond the back deck the yard is not fenced. We like to give our guests their privacy but Kerry is available by phone or text to answer any questions and we are only ever 10-15 minutes drive away if needed in an emergency. This is a quiet family friendly neighborhood Rotorua is only one hours drive and Hawkes Bay within 1.5 hours drive for a day of sightseeing and for the active traveller the Ski field and Tongariro crossing is an 1.5 hours drive. The Glowworm Caves are also 2 hours drive and Hobbiton 1.5 hours making Taupo the heart of the North Island and the perfect place to stay and explore from. Strictly No parties, Gatherings , events or loud groups. If you want shiny kitchens/bathrooms and everything new - maybe this is not for you. If you want charm, a warm welcome (they left Easter eggs for us!), to be away from the main SH1 noise, and a low-key easy place to stay, this is. Bach 70 was one of the few places in Taupo that would allow us to bring our dog and allow him to sleep inside. Communication from Kerry was excellent throughout. While the bach does not have lake views -the lake is only a short stroll away. There is a lovely, private sunny deck at the back overlooking a forested gully. Part of the property is fenced, so pets can be let out safely. Everything worked, including a heat pump for chilly mornings. Sure, there are some chips and cracks - but nothing that mattered.There's a very generous collection of kitchenware and retro board games - and we noticed a baby chair and baby bath for folks with little ones. Upon arrival the place had minimal upkeep on the exterior. There were cobwebs all over the house and unkept weeds/landscaping.The check in process was easy enough with clear instructions. Inside the home had little to be desired. There were tiles from the ceiling hanging, the loveseat smelled of urine, the water pressure in the shower was terrible and there were bugs all over the bathroom floor. We also removed 2 giant spiders from the beds. Not sure if there was an animal in the attic, but there were large banging noises coming from the ceiling all night long. It sounded like an animal moving around. When we asked about the noise we were not met with a suitable response and the property management company blew us off. We ended up leaving a few days early because the conditions were terrible and we were not comfortable staying there.We contacted the host about an early departure with our complaints and they truly didn't seem to care. Communication was great in terms of check in information and facilities for the stay. The house was well equipped with everything we needed. Thank you for having the fireplace and heatpump started on a cold winter weekend, it was so good to arrive to a warm place. We loved the fireplace. The house was nice and close to central Taupo and easy to explore the area from. Thanks for the information about things to do in the area.
