Just came back from an amazing trip in Uzbekistan. Stayed at the Art Hotel after reading great reviews on hotels.com. Well let me tell you....my room was huge, the breakfast was delicious with many choices, all of our requests were timely accommodated and most importantly Ibrahim and his colleagues went out of their way to help us with anything we need. The staff is incredibly warm and welcoming and we were literally treated like family. The taxis are very cheap and for $1-2 dollars can take you anywhere within 15 minutes away from the hotel, which is the distance to all the major landmarks in the city. There are several restaurants nearby, plus you can order food and have it delivered to you by car. The service for food delivery is super cheap (about $1). There is also a supermarket called karzinka outside where you can buy anything you need. The hotel was nice and clean with friendly staff. They brought tea to our room and offered slippers, which was nice considering the price point. The neighborhood is a bit sleepy, but good restaurants can be found within walking distance. The door of my room had two positions: locked or open. I.e., you could not have it closed, unlocked. Breakfast was most basic of all (5) hotels we had in Uzbekistan. Still adequate, though.
