A Gem of a host!!!!
The communication between us and our host was 10 star. I have never had such special, friendly communication in any other VRBO rental and i have rented many. Thank you Herve for all of the extra info you gave us about the area. The condominium was immaculate with everything one needs to cook, etc.. The location of the condo overlooking the beach and Pacific was par excelance. Sunsets were amazing. The ice cream place within the grounds of the Golden Reef was super and the restaurant was good and low key. We rented golf carts to go to the beach since we needed them for certain issues we have. I actually snorkled just off the beach and saw yellow tailed fish. I am sure you could see more if you went out further. I was alone so didn’t trust myself to go too far out. The entire week was so beautiful and peaceful. We now don't want to leave but Adios Golden Reef. Betty

Stunning Views and a Clean Beautiful Condo
My family and I (daughter, son-in-law, two children) stayed here for several days and it was lovely. There aren't enough adjectives to describe the views from the very spacious balconies, which contained lots of seating options, a table and chairs for dining, and a hammock. The condo was very clean and had everything we needed in terms of dishes, towels, soaps, etc. It is also very spacious and really comfortable. The pool area (and pool slide!) was greatly appreciated by the kids. Communications with the property manager were promptly answered and instructions were very clear on the arrival process (several guard stations to pass through, which makes the property extremely secure). The only small issue we found (when we arrived one toilet would not) was resolved quickly. Highly recommend this property for a peaceful getaway!! PS La Ostra Negra is a WONDERFUL restaurant right near the first entry into the property.

Spacious condo with a spectacular view
My family of 6 really enjoyed this property. The condo was very clean and is spacious. Having 3 bathrooms was a huge plus. The view is terrific and we loved sipping coffee in the morning on the large patio while listening to the sound of the waves and keeping our eyes out for the scarlet macaws. We did the CostaCat tour to Isla Tortuga our first full day which was fun, but we enjoyed the snorkeling even more at the beach near the home, where we saw a large variety of fish and a couple sea turtles. The kids loved playing in the pool at the complex which had a slide that’s even fun for teens and adults. We spent one afternoon exploring the shops of Jaco, and enjoyed a delicious seafood dinner at Amara restaurant. We felt very safe at this property as you have to pass several guard stations to get to the home. The only things we did not particularly enjoy were the bumpy dirt road you travel for about 10 minutes on the way to the home (and every time you want to head back out to the highway and the short but steep hike from the beach to the home. Next time we will propose consider renting a golf cart to facilitate transportation to the beach. We also wish there were a few more dining and shopping options closer (in order to avoid the bumpy dirt road). Overall, we had a splendid stay and we appreciated the wonderful stay and look forward to returning.

Beautiful view, amazing balcony
The place was lovely. Like most other locations in CR, driving to the condo can be a bit hairy if you're not ready for it - very tight. The only issue we had was the power went out for a little bit one evening, but the owner was working on it immediately as was the condominium staff. Very responsive. Be sure to confirm with the host which beds you intend to use so that there's no confusion about bedding. Highly recommend.

Awesome view
Great place to stay close to the beach. Not far from San Jose. Very secure. Yvette is great to work with. She is very responsive and her instructions and recommendations were super helpful. If you have people who can’t walk good in your party you will need a golf cart to go to the beach and back. It’s a short walk, but quite steep on the way back. Lots of scarlet macaws and plenty of monkeys at Playa Manta if you get over there early in the morning.

Property is roomy and has great views. The hike to the beach is only 5 minutes, but you have a steep hill to climb. The entry to the condo is about 12-15 minutes from the main road. This was the only downfall of staying here.

We rented the condo for the view & we’re not disappointed. We appreciated being able to use the beach towels, chairs, cooler & beach toys. The beach is a short walk but the walk back is uphill. The beach is very clean & the waves were calm. The condo is very spacious and the kitchen is very well stocked to cook. The restaurants are a 15 min drive. A storm knocked out power right after we arrived. and it was off for 24hrs. The owner did her best to communicate w/ us. There was one flashlight and a few tea lights. We made the most it and still enjoyed our stay.

Fantastic Condo With Amazing View!
The condo was very well appointed and the view from the back porch was stunning, especially at sunset. The beach is very close by and there were plenty of good restaurants once you leave the property. The property host Yvette was always accessible and helped in any way she could, including golf cart rentals and answering other general questions. She does a great job. I would absolutely stay here again and would highly recommend it!

The condo was amazing, there was AC, vents, appliances, basically everything you would need. The pool was so much fun for the kids and the beach was 5 minute walking distance. We had a great time overall. There was a roach here and there at night which was not cool. Otherwise, the condo is a great spot for vacationing. The maid is the nicest person and the property manager, Yvette, is easy to get a hold of as well for any questions or concerns. The view is amazing. We certainly had a great time here.

Really lovely property! Host was very kind, responsive, and helpful. We stayed here for three nights with 4 adults and 2 young kids and it was very comfortable. The view of the ocean is beautiful. The balcony is large and offers space to relax and to dine. Kitchen is well-stocked, and the laundry machine is a life-saver! The property building is clean and has a nice pool area with a slide and some amenities in the common area. The guards are also helpful and kind. There are a couple cons - one, the property is far from restaurants except one which is about a 5 min drive. Minimum drive is about 15 minutes to other restaurants. If you plan on cooking at the property it wont be a big deal, but we weren’t visiting long enough to want to get that settled in. Two, the shower water pressure is very low. After the beach we could barely wash off the sand. Not a deal-breaker, but a tad frustrating in the moment. Overall, would definitely recommend!!

Incredible Views and Amazing Beach!
This was a wonderful condo in Costa Rica. The condo was very clean and spacious for a family of 5. A/C in the whole condo was very nice. The views from the apartment were incredible! Loved having coffee out there in the morning. We saw the scarlet macaws every day we were there. The walk to the beach is 5 minutes. Yes the hill is steep but we had no issues with it. The beach is honestly so nice. Soft sand, clear water, and great mix of calm and waves for the kids. Yvette was a tremendous help and easy to communicate with.

Wonderful experience. Very Safe. Nature everywhere. Birds, Tucanes, Lapas. Good snorkel. We were so lucky as we were Swiming/snorkeling with a big big big turtle at the south part of the beach for about 2 minutes .UNFORGETABLE The best beach of the area with no doubt.

Fantastic view!
This was our second stay in this beautiful flat. This time, we were a group of 6, including my parents who are elderly (75+ and 80+), our daughter and nice (teenagers) and us who are in our 50ies. The flat is spacious, well planned and the location could not be better. We all had the privacy we needed and had also big social areas to enjoy together. We loved the balcony, which has a wonderful view and is very well furnished and spend a lot of time there. Looking forward to going back!

My family had a great stay at Golden Reef. It is a beautiful property with amazing views. Yvette was very helpful and great to deal with. We also saw a lot of wildlife in the drive in and out of Pubta Leona….macaws, an armadillo, monkeys, coati, etc. We spent another week in Guanacaste and visited about 10 beaches in total around Costa Rica, and Playa Blanca was our favourite. Nice sand, manageable waves, and clearer water than at the more popular beaches like Jaco or Tamarindo. My kids also really enjoyed the pool right at Golden Reef and spent quite a bit of time there too. It is a steep walk to and from the beach but manageable if you’re relatively mobile. Great property. Highly recommend.

Cannot say enough good things about this place!! Clean, comfortable, spacious, but most of all THE VIEW! We spent every morning on the porch drinking our coffee and marveling at the amazing view of the mountains, beach and wildlife. It was the best part of our day! Short 5 minute walk to the beach, easy access to a very clean and beautiful pool. Awesome local restaurants about 10-15 min away from the condo. Everything about our stay was wonderful, we can’t wait to return!!!

Beautiful view overlooking playa Blanca! Words do not adequately describe this gem of a spot. The balcony overlooks the bay, pool, and jungle. We saw macaws every day, monkeys on the walk to the beach, iguanas every day, and countless sea creatures when we were snorkeling at playa Blanca! A dream vacation spot! The condominium had everything we needed. We had young adult and teenage children with us, they loved it. PS: make sure you enter at the Punta Leone Hotel entrance, do not follow your GPS it will take you on back roads to the condominium.😉

Wonderful Family Vacation
We had a great time in Costa Rica! Yvette was very responsive to all of my many questions. The condo is very nice and comfortable. We loved the balcony overlooking the pool. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The only negative was that it rained everyday as expected. I highly recommend this property.

Too many rules You will need to stay quiet at the pool (No laugh music at all) Too many controls... even to get in and out of the beach Too used towels Property is not too bad until you start cooking... The jacuzzi was with a sign out of order, what does that mean?

I'm sorry you found the regulations established by the Golden Reef Condo Assoc and Punta Leona Club for the safety and serenity of its owners and members to be too stringent. What is wonderful about Golden Reef Condos and the general area is that it is a place for families and those looking for peace, quiet and nature. Not loud parties.

We had a great vacation. This condo was located on a mountain side so the views were gorgeous. The property was very large and access to some areas and activities are restricted to members only (which you are not as a renter). Yvette was very responsive.

The condo and the view were great. The property is about a 15 minute drive in from the main road and is a one way in and one way out type situation. This is great for privacy and security. The drive to Jaco is not far but it is up and over some mountain stretch of the road. Again the view and condo were great. Thank you.

The condo was lovely with a terrific terrace to watch the ocean and the birds. The property was in a gated community and was very safe. The family enjoyed the proximity to the beach and the swimming pool was also a hit with the kids.

This condo was in an absolutely perfect location. Loved this little beach cove and the views from the balcony. It was hard to find in the dark coming from San Jose but the owner did warm us about that. Really pay attention to her directions! Once you are there it is an oasis! I only wished we had stayed in this location for a few more days. Was sad to leave!

Must stay!!! Hidden Costa Rica Gem!!!
Wow what a view! It doesn’t get better than the patio and view this condo has. The pool was also amazing as well as the beach that’s a short walk from the unit. Unit was very clean and owner was well organized and responsive. Would recommend staying here to anyone and is worth a stay on your Costa Rica Vacation. We saw macaws and iguanas daily from the balcony. Loved our stay only issue was that we wished we had longer!

Perfect Costa Rican Escape!
Very nicely laid-out, clean, comfortable condo for 6 adults looking to escape to Costa Rica! Condo was great, but spent most of our time on the balcony overlooking the water! Fabulous mornings and Happy Hours watching the water, animals, sunsets and listening to the water. Fabulously relaxing!

The views from the condo is iconic. The condo was very nice and spacious but could use some updates or repairs. However the only thing I don't agree with is the 5 min walk to the beach, it is not a casual 5 minute walk to the beach. It is .35 of a mile (per my Garmin) to the beach entrance you can use and it is down and back up a hill that is at least a 50 degree incline. If you rent with very young children or older family members you will have to rent a golf cart. To be completely honest we did not go to the beach nearly as much this trip as we usually do and that was in part due because of this walk/hike back (and my husband and I are in good shape, we run half-marathons regularly and there where times that the return to the condo was a struggle).

Amazing property
It just doesn’t get any better than this place. Amazing view of the ocean, beautifully appointed, and very spacious. Yvette, who we worked with, was absolutely amazing and provided the most detailed suggestions and from dining to directions to the property. ( follow those exact directions). I really cannot overstate how happy we were with our stay. Did I mention how beautiful it is at this property?
