Specifically chose this hotel because it was "pet friendly". Made reservation on-line, and noted they charged $20 per night for pets. No big deal. However, when I checked in, I was told that I didn't reserve a "pet-friendly" room, and because they didn't have any more, I would have to pay $100 more for "deep cleaning". This was not specified anywhere when making the reservation. With it being Spring Break, there were not any other pet-friendly hotels in the area. So, we had to either board our dog or pay $100 more. We decided to board our dog. While completing our check-in, another lady arrived, and she experienced the same fate!! She was very upset, in that she had stayed there numerous times over the past 6 months (she est. $2k-$3k) but they wouldn't accommodate her & she stated she would NOT board her dog. After unpacking, we tested the online reservation process again, and noticed that on select dates they did offer a 'pet-friendly' room rate - but what caught our eyes was that it showed it was available for the days we were staying!! I went back down to the desk, to learn that someone checked in after us and didn't need the pet-friendly room, so it was now available. Unfortunately, we had already taken our dog to be boarded. After confirming they didn't accommodate the lady earlier, I asked if they had contacted her to let her know a room was now available, and was told "that's not our problem". What!!! She's your customer, so it is your problem!!!
