As it is currently not possible to travel to Russia via Helsinki, we had to reschedule our trips, which we had booked well in advance. We have found a good and inexpensive place to stay for our purpose. We are grateful for this. Rooms are a little tired and getting hot water in the shower involved a bit of luck but for the cost of the stay it was all reasonable enough. There isn't much in the local area for food other than a couple of restaurants associated to the hotel. Nearest supermarket is about 5-10 minutes walk away. The employees are polite and helpful. The only negatives are that while room itself was clean, the carpets are stained and it gives the impression that it’s dirty. The other issue is there’s no air conditioning and in summer… it’s very uncomfortable, even though you can open the windows. The location is perfectly situated to the old town as well as the ferry terminals.
