The hotel and staff are all amazing. The rooms are spacious and traditional in feel. Our stay at Hoshinoya fell short of expectations. Uncomfortable beds, stuffy rooms, and inadequate lighting marred the experience. Mediocre food and unresponsive massage therapy added to the disappointment. The hotel grounds were confusingly laid out, and the lack of beach loungers and presence of washed-up plastic bottles detracted from the beach experience. The insistence on proceeding with a kayaking tour during torrential rain, coupled with unjust charges upon checkout, further soured the stay. Communication issues with staff exacerbated the situation. Overall. Hoshinoya failed to deliver on its promise of 5-star luxury and we would in no way return.
