Our stay at Tabino hotel was wonderful. Friendliest staff and they had an onsen. It is situated about 10 minute Drive from the station and they provide hourly transportation to/from. We stayed 1 night which was great to unwind- use the Onsen and enjoy the folk village & downtown area. Tabino was a perfect option for us!

The staff were very helpful and those that couldn't speak English quickly worked through any queries with Google Translate. Cleaning staff would not take tips (good to see that not everywhere is focussed only on money) Very friendly - will stay there again.

This place is a hidden gem in Takayama. Their free shuttle bus service will take you to the hotel and the station back and forth (15 mins ride). The room was nice, staff super nice, the breakfast is super wonderful and they even gave us some free drink (beer or juice) and free snack (small ramen or ice cream) in the evening! Their SPA bath was very nice and provides such tranquillity in the outdoor bath overlooking the river!! We fell in love!!

All was good for us with the exception of the breakfast. Breakfast was overcrowded and we waited for 30min longer than our scheduled time. At that point some of the items were not available on the buffet. Outside breakfast the place was great for us. Location is good, lots of parking and a Family Mart right across the road for supplies.

The staff speak English as well as Japanese. This beautiful hotel is near a quiet shrine. It is a fair walk from Takayama, bit there is a free shuttle that runs between Takayama Station (Tabino Hotel Satellite, across the street) and the hotel in the morning and afternoon/evening. They provide pajamas, slippers, and yukata for wearing in the hotel and going to the onsen baths. (Tattoos OK!) We lost a key card and they didn't even charge us for it. :) Lovely place.

Hotel is not within walkable distance from takayama city centre. But fine if you have your own car. Size of my room is comparable to any Japanese business hotel - APA, Super and you name it. But amenities are available. Onsen is available. Afterall, good for value.

On arriving at Tabino we were given a standard room although we had booked and paid for a deluxe room. Evening staff were rude and very unhelpful, wouldn’t even assist us with carry heavy luggage up 2 flights of stairs as they have no lift. If I could give a lower rating I would. Do yourself a favor don’t go to this hotel!!!!!!!!!!
