We loved the experience. The room was quite small and basic but it was exceptionally clean and met all of our needs. The level of service was top notch. I can safely say that I have never experienced that high level of service in my life. We enjoyed both the dinner and breakfast meals they offered. We felt they were good value and an interesting tasty cultural experience. Takayama itself was a beautiful quiet little town that was a welcome break from the intense hyper urban cities we stayed at in Japan. The basic Kaiseki dinner went above and beyond our expectations, so delicious and had some local Hida beef as well as sashimi and all types of other dishes. It was such a great experience, and I loved being served dinner in the room.
