Check in was virtual. The staircase is steep. Bed & pillow cases. The bath towel was tiny, almost like a big hand towel but that was only downside. I was able to do washing which was great, you just buy detergent for 100 yen, washing facilities free. Lovely hotel with exceedingly friendly helpful staff and a rooftop bar with lovely views. Our kettle in the room was faulty, but five minutes after informing them they brought us a new one. Wish we have planned to stay an extra night. Location is wonderful, right between the JR Rail Station and the historic preservation section. Loved having tatami mats and a view of the temple. Great roof top view, fabulous for sunset views.
