About this property
Large Home, Lovely Lake Views, Great Getaway
One of the larger Tahoma houses for rent on VRBO - a great value completely remodeled in 2010!
Our vacation home offers lovely views of the lake from the downstairs bedrooms, main living spaces, and the wrap-around deck. The house is quite large (2400 sq. ft.) and doesn't just sleep 10 but actually accommodates that many *comfortably,* thanks to a modern kitchen with island, large living area, 2.5 baths, and off-street parking. We remodeled in 2010 using top-quality materials, all new appliances and fixtures, and brand new beds, but preserved details such as the monumental fieldstone fireplace and our family stained glass.
The layout of the house is as follows:
1st floor: Two bedrooms each with two pairs of bunk beds and a double bed (so each is able to sleep five/six, nice for a single family or a bunch of tired skiers!), one full bath, a separate half bath, washer and dryer, wood storage, additional large closets and a spacious entryway, so plenty of room for boots, coats, and carriages.
2nd floor: Two more bedrooms, each with a double-size bed. Full bathroom. Lots of additional closets containing generous supplies. Fully outfitted gourmet kitchen with a large island, separate dining area including a very large dining table perfect for large family meals or big puzzles! Also on this level is a living space with very comfortable seating for 10, plus a big-screen TV with VCR, DVD. The living space leads to a huge wrap-around deck with marvelous views of mountains and lake. All rooms have closets, so no shortage of storage.
Outside: From the front door, a covered entryway leading to a path to the stairs to the off-street parking. From the back door a small gravel path leading to a small quiet patio overlooking the lake. Lots of trees all around and only a couple of other houses in sight.
We offer high speed internet and get great mobile phone reception so no need to be out of touch...unless you want to be!
A short walk up the hill and you'll find yourself in the Desolation Wilderness, a National Forest that goes on forever. This means wonderful hiking, cross country skiing, snowshoeing, and mountain biking is available without having to get in a car! If you're looking at this posting then we probably don't have to tell you that Tahoma is near some of Tahoe's best skiing--Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadows are less than half an hour away, and Homewood, one of the West Shore's best kept secrets, is literally right next door--and outdoor activities in all seasons. Two wonderful state parks are just a bit further down Highway 89 (Sugar Pine Point and DL Bliss), both offering camping, beaches, wildlife, hiking, cross country skiing, sledding, snowshoeing, etc. It's just 15 minutes to Tahoe City, with all it offers, too, and there are several really excellent shops and restaurants even nearer than that.
Any other issues? We want to make sure your stay is comfortable, so please let us know!

We stayed at the house with 7 adults and had a great time. The place is spacious and has sufficient sofas for everyone to hang out together. We were surprised that one of the plates of the stove wasn’t working.
Beautiful cabin! Owner responded fast and heater was working we also had hot water! The best part of the cabin would have to be the balcony the view was breathtaking I would definitely recommend 10/10
We had a great stay in Tahoma in August. The views from the house were beautiful, plenty of room for our group (four adults and four kids), and Kaya was very responsive when a small issue popped up. Easy access to Meeks Bay, Tahoe City, and lots of other great West Shore spots. Would love to stay again soon!
Pros:
1. Lots of beds! Two rooms down stairs are identical: 2 sets of bunk beds and 1 full bed.
2. Very clean bedding, sheets, pillows (no smells)
3. Upstairs has 4 couches, nicely spaced apart so our large family had plenty of space to spread out
4. Well-stocked kitchen for cooking meals
5. The view is gorgeous
Cons:
1. The upstairs bathroom smells strongly of mildew. This also affects the towels in that room. The bathroom towels need a good hot wash with vinegar but it was very off putting to wash your face in a towel that smells like mildew.
2. Cleanliness was “rustic”. lots of dust under beds, random medicine cups under couch, weird brown stains on the walls on the stairwell. (But the beds did feel very clean)
3. There is no driveway and you must climb 2 flights of stairs to get to the front door. A little inconvenient with luggage and older people with bad knees or lots of little kids.
4. Found some strands of hair in the stack of towels.
5. There was no vacuum, and since the entire place is hardwood, you could feel all the little crumbs/dust that accumulate. It would be nice to have a little shark vacuum to tidy during our stay.
This cabin was a great fit for our family. Be prepared for a lot of stairs!! The management was super easy to work with and we appreciated all they did to make our stay great!
The cloud 9 is an amazing place to stay with close proximity to Homewood ski resort and some local restaurants. Also, there is a market down the street. The house itself is kept in great shape and there is everything we need for the stay. Beds are comfy and the view of the lake is unbeatable. Would definitely recommend any family that is going up to Tahoe.
The view from the deck was incredible and the location of this home is great. Overall the house was comfortable, especially the beds. We did find the floors to be sticky/dirty, perhaps cleaned with the wrong stuff? It was a warm weekend and would have loved to open up the windows but most were missing the screen. The host was very friendly and prompt to respond.

in the trees
I really enjoyed staying at the house. The top floor really feels like you are surrounded by trees and lake view. The dining table and kitchen are great. and the fireplace is great but don't forget to get your own wood. (no wood at the place).
The two bedrooms upstairs are very nice.
The downstairs feels a bit more underground and it is fine for sleeping. If you were to be a lot of people I think the room would be too crowded unless you have a bunch of kids. The bunk beds are very close to each others, (the bottom bed and the top bed) and you need to hop to the top bed. That would be my only complain.
My recent stay at this VRBO in Lake Tahoe was an absolute delight. From the moment I stepped through the door, I was captivated by the stunning views of the surrounding mountains and the glistening lake. The location was ideal, providing easy access to both outdoor adventures and nearby attractions.
The interior of the VRBO was tastefully decorated, creating a warm and inviting ambiance. The comfortable furnishings and thoughtful amenities made me feel right at home. Whether I was lounging by the fireplace after a day on the slopes or preparing a meal in the well-equipped kitchen, every aspect of the space was designed with the guest's comfort in mind.
One of the highlights was the private outdoor deck where I could unwind while soaking in the picturesque sunset over the lake. The tranquility of the surroundings was truly therapeutic, making it the perfect spot for relaxation and rejuvenation.
Moreover, the host's attention to detail and prompt communication enhanced the overall experience. They were quick to respond to any inquiries and provided helpful recommendations for local activities and dining options.
In conclusion, my stay at this Lake Tahoe VRBO surpassed all expectations. The combination of a picturesque location, cozy accommodations, and exceptional hospitality made it an unforgettable getaway. I can't wait to return and create more cherished memories in this tranquil oasis. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a memorable stay in Lake Tahoe.

We loved that this place had river rafting and jet ski locations nearby . The home has a beautiful view and it’s is spacious for family of 8 . The outside balcony appeared unkept . A lot of cow webs and dust everywhere. We didn’t let that stop us from having an amazing time .
Very spacious and inviting! My only suggestion (which is minor) is to supply more glassware and maybe supplies for storing food like zip lock bags or Tupperware. Other than that, it was large and comfortable enough for our family of 8 adults.
This property was walking distance (20 min) to chambers and rested above the tree line with a view of the lake. It accommodated 10 adults easily with plenty of kitchen / dining space. The deck was the hit of the stay.
Everything was well stocked it was beautiful. , a beautiful view , it was very clean. The stairs were a challenge but we were expecting that due to the prior reviews . all in all we love the property s and will be back . The owners were very accommodating.
Updated great cabin. We had no issues at all. Beds were comfy, couches were comfy, had a well stocked kitchen. Heater worked well! Loved the view from the living room.
All those stairs to get to the house sucked when we were packing up but I guess it’s the price we pay for the gorgeous views. :) I think we will be back!
The property was lovely....but you should know there are 2 flights of stairs to get there.
There is plenty of room for a get together. The kitchen is well equipped. There are plenty of spices.
This property is close to everyplace you would want to see in Lake Tahoe
