Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Syrau?
The best area to stay in Syrau is the village centre, particularly around the Syrau Dragon Cave (Drachenhöhle Syrau).

This is the main point of interest in Syrau and the surrounding area is well-suited for visitors. You'll find the most convenient accommodation options here, often within walking distance of the cave entrance. The village centre also typically hosts the local eateries and shops.

Families will find staying near the Dragon Cave particularly convenient. The cave itself is a major attraction, offering an educational and exciting experience for children and adults alike. Being close by means less travel time and more time to enjoy the natural wonder.

For couples seeking a quiet retreat with easy access to nature, the areas just outside the immediate village centre, yet still within Syrau, offer a good balance. These locations often provide a more secluded feel while still being a short drive or walk to the main attractions and local restaurants.
When is the best time to go to Syrau?
The best time to visit Syrau is during the late spring to early autumn months, specifically from May to September, when the weather is mild and pleasant for exploring.

These months offer the warmest temperatures, making it ideal for outdoor activities like hiking and visiting the Drachenhöhle (Dragon's Cave), which is Syrau's main attraction. You'll find the surrounding Vogtland countryside lush and green, great for enjoying nature.

For families, the summer holidays (July and August) are particularly good, as the longer daylight hours allow for extended exploration of the cave and the nearby recreational areas. There are often local festivals or events during this period that add to the experience.

Couples looking for a peaceful getaway might prefer May, June, or September.
Can I cancel my hotel reservation on Expedia?
You can cancel your hotel reservation on Expedia, though it depends on the cancellation policy of your booking. Most bookings are refundable if canceled within 24-48 hours of the scheduled arrival. Be sure to check your booking confirmation for the exact cancellation policy. If free cancellation is available, you can cancel directly through your Expedia account by logging in, going to "My Trips", and selecting your reservation. To find flexible deals, filter your search by "Fully refundable property" for hotels in Syrau.
How much is the nightly rate at a Syrau hotel?
Prices for hotels in Syrau often vary, but you can find a great deal from £43 on Expedia. All sorts of factors affect price, such as the time of year or the days of the week you choose for your stay. Find the best deals by being flexible with your dates, and sort search results by "Price: low to high" for the cheapest rate.
