    Come stay in this renovated 1930s log cabin! Enjoy the privacy of the yard with its green surroundings and a babbling brook that cascades down the property’s hillside. Cook meals in the fully equipped kitchen or out on the deck with the propane grill. Gather around and enjoy the satellite TV and surround sound system. Cozy up in front of the gas log fireplace in the living room or the wood stove in the bedroom. What’s nearby: This home is in the charming town of Sylva in the Great Smoky Mountains. Perfect!

Loved this place, it was historic yet had all the modern amenities. It was peaceful and remote, exactly what we were looking for while in the area for a professional conference at WCU.

Peace and Quiet

If you are looking for peace and quiet this is the place. Beautiful countryside and close to adventure. We had fireflies by night and bunnies in the morning. The small stream was peaceful, and the area is beautiful.

Anniversary getaway

It’s a quiet location and very cute. However some of the furniture could be replaced as in the bed and the couch. However it was very much needed to get away and unplug from time to time.

Best vacation ever!

My husband took me away for a weekend here and he knew we needed to be out as far as we could get. And it worked perfectly! The house was amazing and the property was just beautiful! We had everything we needed plus and I was able to just read and relax all weekend.

The bed was comfortable, the water was hot and I liked being able to cook and store things in the fridge. Watch out for the forest friends in the attic, though.

Peace and quiet

We had a wonderful time on the property we met the owner. He was a very nice man and we he dealt with my husband for a while about service so he was happy but it was clean. It was beautiful and it was quiet. We really enjoyed our stay. We had a great time. We were close to the places where we could go in and see what we wanted to say. We were very very, happy with our choice

Crackerbox Palace

This is a very cute cabin tucked away in the mountains. The perfect place to stay for history/antique fans such as myself, there was so much cool antique furniture and old pictures from when the house was first built. The drive up is a little precarious but overall not too bad and the signage made it a lot easier to find! I took my partner here for their birthday and had such a great time exploring downtown Sylva and then coming home at night to a peaceful quiet cabin in the midst of the beautiful mountain forests. Also a good deal for the price if you value privacy and a unique vacation experience. Definitely would return!

Quiet

This place has so much personality. I loved the antique decor. The mismatched eclectic feeling. You could feel the history in the walls. The road up is extremely narrow, but pretty smooth. We had no issues in a small compact car, but luckily never intercepted anyone coming up or down. Plenty of sleeping space. The pots and pans were in pretty rough condition but other than that everything provided was nice. It was very quiet. Very remote. There was some kind of magic in those walls and I could feel it. Although we could've used a bit more toilet paper lol

We loved the area and how secluded in the mountains it was. Things were updated such as TV, Fridge, Stove. Etc. our only complain would definitely be the beds in the home. They are very uncomfortable and need to be swapped. Just really cheap feeling mattress. If your a super firm springing bed type of people it will be perfect but had trouble sleeping with stiff body on these beds. Could also provide updated cooking supplies blender mixers etc. we love to cook and grill and didn’t have the things to have that were expected to be in a place like this. Bath tub could be replaced as well or just updated. Other than that very nice home very nice area. !! Will be returning and hope next time will have everything the right way.
