North Sydney is a popular place for visitors to Sydney. It makes up part of a dynamic city that is home to 4,600,000 inhabitants. The centre of Sydney is only 2 miles (3 kilometres) away and Kingsford Smith International Airport is 7 miles (11 kilometres) to the southwest of North Sydney.

To get a real feel for the various sights, sounds and textures of Sydney, pull on some comfortable shoes and discover surrounding areas like Milsons Point, Circular Quay - The Rocks, and St. Leonards.

The Sydney Opera House, one of the most famous attractions in the country is only 1 mile (2 kilometres) to the south.

To really understand Sydney, head to one of its many cultural destinations. Visit some of the noteworthy artistic and historic collections including Customs House, Sydney Observatory and the Museum of Sydney. There are some interesting art galleries to visit including the Museum of Contemporary Art.

Allow plenty of time to visit the more famous sights in and around Sydney. History buffs will enjoy exploring Fort Denison.

If you love to shop, amble through the boutiques, stores and stalls at Australia Square and the Rocks Markets.
