Good hotel, close to hospital with restaurant suit

Good accommodation close to hospital with restaurant suited us country travellers of 8 hrs visiting specialists at Kogarah & easily booked on the road, staff very accommodating to our requirements. Would also suit holiday makers to Sydney beaches, or international to airport with shuttle service (no road/airport noise either).

Basic airport stay

Lobby was the nicest. Rooms adequate and worn. I didn't like the fact that I wasn't told I had to pay for airport transportation when given vouchers upon check in.

Hot Dirty Sweatbox

Tired old dirty sweatbox.. air con not working.. room dirty.. shower broken.. bedroom light broken.. airport bus left before schedule so was told to take taxi at own cost.. what a disaster..

Dear Anonymous, We sincerely apologise that the Hotel’s room did not meet your expectations. We do have some rooms that are not refurbished at the moment but are scheduled to go under an overhaul this year. Notwithstanding this we were concerned about your specific reports and whilst the room remains un-refurbished, we have remedied the issues you have raised to the best of our ability. We sincerely apologise for the issues related to cleanliness, it is completely unacceptable and does not reflect the standard of service we strive to deliver to all guests. We will be following up with the Housekeeping Supervisor to ensure it does not happen again. We also apologise for your discomfort as a result of the air conditioning system not functioning during your stay. We would like to inform that unfortunately during the time of your stay we experienced an unexpected leak in our air conditioning systems. This caused a number of floors to become quiet hot due to the high outside temperature. Our engineering department did their best to resolve the issue as quickly as possible, however we sincerely apologise again for the discomfort it caused. Please know that this has been resolved and the air conditioning is up and running. The timetable for the Shuttle Bus Service as well as the charges are available on our website, however we apologise if this was not communicated to you at the time of your booking. We are sad to hear that your stay was less than satisfactory, however we do hope to welcome you back to the Mercure Sydney International Airport in the near future to showcase all we have to offer.

Close to airport

Pros: Proximatey to both airports
Cons: Breakfast especially the scrambled eggs
Location: Did not see any due to lateness of arrival and departure time
Convenient to airport which is what we wanted .rooms quiet .breakfast was ordinary albeit a good selection scrambled eggs were very poor and not very hot

Cons: Free wifi not availabe
Excellent hotel in a very safe area close to public transport (15 mins from train station). They had parking at the hotel for people with cars. Had an excellent view of the city from the window.

It was perfect for a night to sleep comfortably and get up to fly in the morning. Close to a park, a short walk to a store, and a place with bottles of adult beverages.
