"Our room was enormous and modern, more comfortable than I expected staying in an historic castle. beds very comfortable; extremely quiet and peaceful setting. the restaurant has amazing sunset views, definitely worth eating there. menu was a bit limited, but enough choices if you're only there a few nights. breakfast service was wonderful, but overall the staff was a bit vague and seemed overworked/understaffed. there isn't a bar but you could buy wine from the front desk and enjoy anywhere on the property which has amazing views. short walk into town for more options although the town is small. Best kept secret which they never told us about are the many wineries on the road if you continue past the castle. Particularly Ermacora--had a wonderful wine tasting experience there. another wonderful winery was right down the hill in town, Meroi which also has a wonderful restaurant. weirdly the hotel didn't share any of these details I guess because they want you to drink their wine---??? although we inquired about a wine tasting there, they advertise wine tours on the web site, but no one provided a bit of information about it and they seemed unable to schedule a tasting. that was the only weird downside to this place. take a trip into Slovenia; we enjoyed our day in Bled. it's so close!"
