Hotel near ski resorts of Summit County Colorado

Posted 27-Feb-2017
Lacking in amenities for skiers, breakfast is not very good. Too many sweet pastries and not enough warm hearty food.

My friend got sick here

Posted 22-Feb-2017
My friend got sick at this hotel due to cleanliness issues at the hotel. My wife developed severe skin allergies. I am sure you can find better hotels than this.

NO HOT WATER

Posted 21-Feb-2017
Pros: Location
Cons: Maybe sweep the floor when you come to clean the rooms?
There was no hot water, the showers were freezing. The man at the front desk was rude and impatient when I complained.

Nice to stay here while skiing

Posted 20-Feb-2017
Pros: Location. Amenities
Cons: Room heat. Warm item on breakfast such as some meat with the waffles.
Location: Great location to village and ski areas
Everything was fine except a minor problem with the room heater. It was constantly on and off and with erratic heat. Rooms were clean and well serviced. Breakfast was fine. Had a pleasant stay.

No hot water during stay. Second time that this has happened. Mattress was so worn out you rolled to the middle of the bed.

Very rude hotel manager and no hot water

Posted 19-Feb-2017
Pros: Location
Cons: Hot water, updated, change the hotel manager to a courteous and professional person. She was rude to everyone we saw here interact with.
Location: Near the ski slopes and plenty of shopping and restaurants.
The first night of our stay was not bad as the hotel is very old and worn but our check-in staff was very nice. We had requested the highest floor possible and were given that 6 floor so were very pleased with that. There was no hot water the first night and when we asked at the desk they said they were sorry and that happens all the time. The second night of our stay after a long day of skiing, we had to take cold showers! That night the room next door and the one next to that were holding a very loud party with doors slamming and yelling for hours. We complained to the desk clerk, Jim, and he first called them and then came up to talk with them in person by 12:30 am as it hadn't stopped. Jim was very nice and he refunded our room cost for that night which we appreciated. The next morning we asked for a receipt and to confirm our refund and the hotel manager - long dark hair - lectured us! She told us that while it was ok for us to have a refund that time if we ever asked again La Quinta would see a pattern and we couldn't stay in their hotels. It was the most shocking encounter I have ever had! It was not our fault and the night clerk had to come up to 6th floor 3 times to ask the party to quiet down. After we left the hotel we realized we left 2 coats in the closet in our room. We asked for them to hold them and the hotel manager again lectured me and told me it wasn't their fault we left things. I agreed and said our mistake and she continued her lecture anyw

good location but dump

Posted 12-Feb-2017
Only stayed because of the location. That's the only thing this hotel has going for it. Crappy breakfast (cereal and watered down OJ), stained sheets, broken heater, sink didn't drain, hard beds, scratchy sheets and junk pool. Plus you have to park a mile away from the hotel.

I am sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your recent stay with us. We have many options for breakfast including oatmeal and hard boiled eggs. I'm not sure where you found parking, but our parking lot is right outside our front doors.
