Perfect place to stay for skiing trip

Posted 22-Apr-2016
Check in was a breeze and rates were very good to get up here for a night to ski the whole weekend. Free breakfast was great and the room was clean (other than the bathtub wouldn't drain while taking a shower). There was some remodeling or repair work being done in our hallway so the whole ceiling was exposed (wires etc) right above our door. Wondering if we could have been in a different room where this wasn't being done. Seems like a safety issue and just looks junky. Overall, great stay! We've been here before and will keep coming back. A little bummed the Old Chicago that was attached to this hotel is gone. Not their fault but it was an easy place to walk to for drinks and a bite to eat.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us! Good news is that we are doing a renovation that should be done in the next two months. The new renovation will provide the hotel with a new state of the art HVAC system for our guests. Also, we are in the process of getting a new restaurant on site, to accommodate the ease of food and drink for our guests. Thank you again and we look forward to serving you again.

Great pool/hot tub

Posted 12-Apr-2016
Gluten-free options with the free breakfast were almost non-existent. We were disappointed that there weren't more choices for our gluten-sensitive family members. The pool and hot tub were great...perfect temp! Bathroom in room was super tiny!

Thank you for the review of the La Quinta Inn and Suites- Silverthorne. Feedback is how we improve the hotel for the guest. In regards to breakfast we will be looking into having more options on the breakfast buffet. Hope to see you again in the future.

The shower area did not appear to have been cleaned. There was something like lotion in the tub and the towels were dirty. We also found trash on the floor which made us wonder if the room itself had been cleaned.

Welcome to Hotel Hell

Posted 21-Mar-2016
Long story short, our flight was canceled and we couldn't check in at the expected time. We were told over the phone to not worry that that day wouldnt be charged to us and that they would pay for an extra day for us- no problem. Went to check in and that wasn't the case at all. Had to pay for a day that we weren't even there and an extra day...the owner was VERY rude. He was a foreigner who barely spoke English and was very disrespectful. He told us the only thing he could do was give us 50% off ski rentals there in the hotel store. The next day when we went to rent skiis, and the guy that ran the store was SO upset that the owner said that and never told him about what he told us. He went off on my husband and I- ended up saying "he's not going to argue with us" and gave the ski rentals 50% off anyway. The room was gross. Dust and debris behind the bed like it hadn't been vacuumed or wiped down in who knows how long? The toilet and sink were also clogged so we ended up showering in ankle deep waters. the ceiling was cracked in several places. This was by far the WORST hotel we've ever stayed in. Would rather sleep in a tent then stay at this place again. Our friends were planning this same trip and was going to stay in the same hotel that we did. Thank God we told them about our experience and they were able to change their hotel!! This hotel and management were horrible!we will definitely NEVER stay here again.

Our room was in disrepair and poorly heated, and the hot tub was rather gross.

Hotel was under construction

Pros: not much poor value for the $
Cons: When on the road I tried calling the hotel 5 or 6 times to confirm our reservation....the phone either rang without being picked up
Bathroom was very tight, toilet and shower in one room with the sink outside the tub area. You can hardly step out of the shower and dry off. Close down a floor and get the work done before renting the rooms out. Breakfast was very average... For around $200.00/night I would expect more. I would not stay here again

Overpriced and outdated

Posted 02-Mar-2016
Pros: good location
Cons: heating and air, bathrooms, and pool
Location: skiing
We had a bad experience both nights. Their heating and air didn't work and we burned up at night. We complained and they said they would fix it but it wasn't fixed we we returned. So when we checked out we asked for a refund.
