Pocket Guide: Boutique Hotels Hotels in Stuttgart

A Boutique Hotel Stay in Stuttgart

A boutique hotel in Stuttgart has that extra something special: upmarket and urban. Near Stuttgart’s shopping district, which blends high indulgence with high value, and a choice of restaurants that bring the best of regional, national and global flavours to your plate – boutique hotels give you the perfect excuse to set your watch to pamper time.

Shopping in Stuttgart

If you’ve come to shop, Stuttgart will happily accommodate you. Follow the main shopping thoroughfare of Königstraße from the Hauptbahnhof station, taking in the mix of local Swabian, German and international brands, and head on down to the Rathaus retail district. Take time to pop into the Breuninger flagship department store – the best in Germany – with its attractive blend of the luxurious and the affordable. And do stop in at the Markthalle, the stately Art Nouveau food hall, to see, sniff and sample choice delicacies from Swabia, Germany and beyond.

Time to Relax in Stuttgart

Stuttgart is home to the second largest collection of thermal springs in Europe, so if that’s not a good reason to spoil yourself, then what is? The Leuze Mineralbad by the Neckar River offers a range of mineral-rich pools of varying temperatures and a variety of herbal-infusion saunas as well as several other soothing treats. The rooftop sauna has panoramic views of the city, which are particularly striking at sunset. With a good selection of spas and wellness centres across Stuttgart, wherever your boutique hotel is, pamper time is never far away.

Stuttgart’s Little Sparrows and Signature Wines

Visitors to Stuttgart have the choice of a number of Michelin-starred restaurants and excellent places to eat in every price category. Take the time try some distinctively Swabian dishes: check out the Spätzle, literally ‘little sparrows’ of egg noodle; Maultaschen, a large ravioli with a meat, herb and spice filling; and Gaisburger Marsch, a hearty stew of ox meat, potatoes and Spätzle. Swabian wine is an award-winning blend of central European influences – in this part of Germany, you can give the Riesling a rest and seek out the region’s signature Spätburgunder (pinot noir) and red Trollinger varieties.
