Old Fashioned Suite - Cottage on the shores of Lake Michigan

The Old Fashioned Suite is a quaint cottage on the shores of Lake Michigan. The main room is an old log cabin. We remodeled this comfortable space into the main living area with a wood-burning fireplace, bathroom, and laundry accommodations.

Added to the front of the cabin are a new kitchen, counter for cooking/eating, and dining area. Above the living area is a roomy loft with bunk beds. Facing the lake, at the back of the cabin, is a bright and sunny sitting room with a pull-out sofa and a master bedroom with a queen-size bed.

A spacious deck faces the lake and provides a porch swing and umbrella-topped table and chairs for open-air dining. Adirondack chairs surround a large fire pit near the shoreline. Sunrises and moon showers can often be seen.

It is fun to see the large ships and sailboats as you enjoy the sight and sounds of the waves. The nearby ship canal and the Land Trust have many hiking trails and there are several sandy beaches that are accessible by foot, bike, or car. The property is located in a secluded setting far off the main road making it a wonderful quiet escape to enjoy campfires, swimming, and outside activities.

Strip any used beds, gather used towels and store extra beds
Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks and take out the rubbish
Turn off the lights, lock the doors and return the keys
Clean up after yourselves. Empty garbage and recycling into cans by the fence along the driveway. Put used linens and dry, used towels in front of washer.
Leave wet/damp items hanging on towel rack in bathroom. Close/lock windows. Close window blinds. Put safety bars down on both patio doors. Put cabin key back into lock box. Lock door behind you.

Located in Sturgeon Bay, this cabin is on the waterfront. Sturgeon Bay Bridge and Sturgeon Bay Ship Canal Lighthouse are local landmarks, and some of the area's activities can be experienced at Potawatomi State Park and Door 44 Winery. This was our third time staying at the Old Fashioned Suite. We’re still driving home and already booked next year! It is so quiet and we love just sitting by the lake. It’s a great location and easy to access lots of activities.

We stayed at the Old Fashioned Suite Cottage a year ago and liked it so much that we returned this year. Great property with lots of privacy. We especially enjoyed having our morning coffee with the spectacular view of the sunrise over the lake.

Very relaxing. Clean property with a great view of the lake. Only suggestion would be to have a first aid kit available for minor things. Would stay there again in a heartbeat!

Loved the quiet, peaceful location so close to the water. I couldn't wait to get up every morning to go out to the beach with a cup of coffee and book, while enjoying the beautiful view of the lake.

We truly enjoyed this cottage with a view. It was the perfect space for our Door County adventures. We enjoyed sipping wine by the lake in the Adirondack chairs and listening to Lake Michigan. The view from the cottage is amazing. We loved the character of the space. Definitely recommend!

Great location, great home!

This is one of the best places we have stayed in Wisconsin. It was very clean, private and well appointed. It was close to the water and it was nice to hear the waves crashing at night. We'd like to book this place again.

Lovely retreat

Relaxing lake side property

It was a great place to relax and enjoy the lakeside. We had awesome bonfires right by the lake shore. It was my 2 kids and wife that stayed. The cabin was perfect. Nice kitchen for those that want to stay in and cook. The bed was very comfortable and the place is very clean. I would stay here again in any time. Great north woods feel.

This location is really special. We collected rocks on the shore and waded into the water, relaxed indoors and cooked a little, played cards and walked along the peaceful wooded roads. Kids loved the loft and the wi-fi! Can't wait to return to this charming and comfortable place.

It had a great view, awesome big yard, nice deck. A bit peeved by the nextdoor dogs barking and then running onto the property. Place was clean and very nicely decorated. Beds were ok, not a lot of support. It was a nice place.

Perfect Long Weekend Getaway

Wonderful lakeside cottage

My husband and I have been coming to Door County for over 20 years and this was our favorite place we have ever stayed. We loved the quiet setting, the comfortable cottage, the extra large fire pit. We saw deer and eagles as we sat by the lake. We cannot wait to come back again very soon.
