Inside Rohan Palace

Built in the mid-1700s, Rohan Palace was inspired by the large mansions of Paris. The Neoclassical residence was home to the French nobility until it became used for some of the city’s museums in 1870. Since then, the palace has been home to the Museum of Fine Arts and the Museum of Decorative Arts. The museum’s Archaeological Museum, in the basement, displays artefacts found in archaeological digs throughout the Alsace and Rhine.
