For travel further afield, transport options to and from Stevenage are plentiful; the station – just 9 minutes’ walk away - has connections to major locations such as Cambridge, Leeds and London, with King's Cross just 25 minutes away. The A1(M), which runs to the west of the town, connects Stevenage to London and the north. As we are older people we weren’t familiar with the systems now used as things have changed during the last five years that we have been out of the loop for various reasons. We were okay and are now more prepared for the next time. I think, in particular we would have been happier with earlier instructions but it seems that is how it is now.
