This is a double unit 1,300sq. ft. Yes, you read the title correctly. This is a two bedroom, two bathroom remodeled condominium walk out unit. Meaning it sits directly on the beach with access directly to the beach. How? Because this is actually two condos that have been remodeled and joined together to make one, and is the only one like it at the resort. Instead of each side having its own living room and kitchen, this allows for one large living room and one large kitchen. So it gives much more space than simply getting two adjacent studios. Additionally, the wall on the porch has been removed, making the outdoor space twice as big too. This is also a corner unit, which has the benefit of additional windows and doors on one side, along with a larger porch on the corner side that partially wraps around the side. Each bedroom has its own bathroom and a large closet space. They can be completely separated from the living room and kitchen, unlike the studios that simple have sliders for separation. One of the bedrooms also has a washer and dryer which we do leave available for guests usage. The large kitchen is on the corner side of the building, allowing extra windows and natural light. The bedroom on that side has the same, as does the bathroom. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you would need, including an extra large refrigerator that can easily handle the needs for the guests. The living room also provides more seating than the typical studio as it doesn't have a kitchen taking up part of the space. So it does not feel cramped whatsoever, it is much more like a home. Both the kitchen and living room have large sliders that open to your own private patio, part of which is covered and part which is not. There is a large dining table outside, as well as comfortable couches for lounging. The patio steps directly onto the beach!! And just a few more steps then you are in the water. This is an extremely private location as well. It is so difficult to describe how wonderful it is to sit right on the beach while listening to the waves against the sand. It never gets old and is why people live and/or visit the islands. Sapphire Beach Resort is only half a mile from the village of Red Hook, which has numerous restaurants, bars, shops, and the ferry to St John or the British Virgin Islands. The beach itself is great. They have a large "double level" pool, which is just off this particular building. There is a watersports desk on the beach where you can rent snorkel gear or various water toys like stand up paddleboards. Lounge chairs are included with the rental as well. The restaurant/bar at Sapphire is open and there is a new addition of a coffee shop which also serves breakfast!. There is also a Pizza Parlor and a Fine Dining Restaurant. Located at the adjacent complex just up the hill but within short walking distance is Sudi's Caribbean Bar & Grill. But the best close options are just a 5 minute drive away in the Red Hook area, where you can choose from many dining choices. And remember, the kitchen here is extra large and accommodating, so you may find yourself wanting to use that more than you expected. There is a convenient grocery store in Red Hook called Moe's Grocery. A rental car is not necessary, though it sure would be desirable to have one. They have what is called SAFARI BUS here, which are open air taxis. These drive right by the entry to Sapphire and only cost a dollar. But with a car, you get freedom to go where you want, when you want. And with a two bedroom condo, you likely have four people which makes it very affordable. \*PLEASE NOTE: There is no Generator at Sapphire Beach Resort and Marina. Because power outages are common with island living, we like we inform our guests who are not aware. You can not enter the water directly in front of it due to rocks and coral but you get the breeze off the water and a fantastic view. The owners communication was impeccable which made our stay that much better. The condo was in the perfect location !!! It is steps from the beach and from the pool. The view is stunning!! It is very spacious, we had family that booked in different condos and came every night to hang out In ours for the room, we were all able to fit out on the deck. Everything went well, no issues. The condo is furnished with everything you need and is very functional. Wifi didn't work on the first day but I called and they quickly fixed it same day. The only knock is that the condo could use some TLC. Overall, my family had a great vacation. ##### Ron R. It was steps from the ocean, with the most beautiful views I've ever seen. It was also a very short walk to the pool. In my opinion, this unit was in the best location in all of Sapphire Beach. You are a short walk to the bar and food, but far enough away to have quiet serenity. The property itself was well stocked and clean. The check in process was easy and the property manager called me a couple of times to make sure we were ok. There was a water shut off for part of our stay (for the island....nothing the property could help). Again, if you have a chance to stay at Sapphire Beach, this is the unit you want! It's spacious, clean and the let me say it again.....the VIEW and location was perfection. ##### April L. Well-equipped, comfortable, clean condo with plenty of room for two couples. I can’t say enough about the location and phenomenal views. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook a few meals and the bed was just as comfortable as ours at home. The property manager was easy to reach and promptly replied to my messages. Mid trip, there was an issue with the plumbing under the sink and water was leaking. I contacted the property manager that night and it was repaired promptly the next morning. This was our 4th stay at Sapphire Beach and, as always, the beach, shops, restaurants and activities did not disappoint. Highly recommend this double-unit, especially for 2 couples or a small family. ##### Yvonne L. The view of St. John’s and all the other islands were fabulous. Location perfect! So spacious! Best stocked vrbo ever! Kitchen and bathrooms had everything we needed. Our place was so spacious! I loved sitting on the patio anytime to hear the waves. So easy to get to st John’s ferry and red hook. Sapphire beach has coffee shop, pizza place, cute restaurants and bars. Lots of beach and pool toys, chairs, snorkel gear, beach towels. Loved the pool and the beach! We definitely will be back! Only thing I would request is that the bar area at the pool near us be reopened if only for a few drinks and running to get us food. ?? The unit having 2 BRs is ideal for 2 couples or a family of 4\. It has a nice spacious living area and a nice sized kitchen. The kitchen is equipped for those who want to cook. We greatly appreciated the beach chairs. Sapphire Beach is popular with excursioners. The beach can get crowded on certain days. Not having to worry about getting beach chairs or trying to hold a place can be stressful. We love to snorkel and this location had an abundance of fish, sea turtles and I saw two types of rays. The end unit was nice and quiet. The location was close to the pool and away from excursion crowds. We hung outside on the porch often and went to the pool a couple times where we saw a number of iguanas. The location was very close to the marina where we took a couple excursions. Communication was great. The host was very responsive. I would highly recommend. ##### Ken P. My family and I have stayed at this resort many times over the years and were thrilled to take stay at the only ground floor double unit. We have always love the ground floor's direct access to the beach but struggled with the size of the studio unit as our children got older. I now have a health condition that restricts me from staying in the upper level 2 bedroom units and was grateful to discover this 2 unit merge. This space far exceeded my expectations and for anyone who has stayed in the studio units the upgrade is well worth the cost. Having a full living room and kitchen with the light exposure from he corner is incredible and adds to the experience. The double deck became a gathering place for family who arrived to Sapphire later in our stay. The property owners/managers made the check in experience and the stay wonderful. Minor questions/issues were addressed promptly and professionally and it was clear that they take great pride in the space and the experience they provide to vacationers. We will return and want to book with Juanda and Melissa again!! ##### Dawn C. As advertised it is the only 2 bedroom 2 bathroom first level unit which is fabulous because the first level is the only level that you walk right out your door onto the beach! The views are breathtaking. From this unit you can see the marina, St. John’s and you are so close to the pool. In addition, as a corner unit there is a little more patio space and an additional sliding glass door allowing for even more sun and views. There was so much room in the kitchen - plenty of space for us to have our make-up and hair done before the wedding. The unit was very well stocked and had everything we needed. The bathrooms were updated. The family room is spacious and well decorated, though I don't think we sat in there one time as we were always outside. There is a nice dining table, love seat and chair outside. A couple of chairs and bistro table would be a great addition to the lower deck next to the beach. The property manager was very attentive. We will definitely be renting this unit again when we return. ##### Dawn W.
