Not all rooms are the same as advertised. Stayed longer than a week, changed room once. Paid for an ocean view (and a sanctuary in paradise). First room was near the loading dock and ear jarring noise at 10pm (trash compactor) and from 6am-8am (trucks going forward and backing up). 75% view of the ship harbor, which was pretty but wasn't the ocean. Second room quiet, but 10% harbor view (90% green turf surface, fences or mountain/sky). I felt like I drew a short straw (twice) for what I paid especially as you see the numerous rooms overlooking the ocean. So, if you get a nice room, you're happy. If you don't, well..." We arrived 3 hrs. early and asked to check our bags as the room was not yet ready. We returned at check in time and still had to wait an additional 1.5 hrs. for check in. The room itself was fine. The bar on site did not opened until 5:30 pm and the restaurant was less than desirable in atmosphere, quality of food and more. the best thing about this Hotel is that it is walking distance from the Charolotte Amilie Ferry. If you're taking an early ferry and don't mind walking to town it may work for you. Unfortunately, this luxury hotel gave away our room even after I had called to confirm that we would be one day late due to airplane issues and we understood that we may have to pay for that night. When we arrived on St. John and went to the desk, we were told that we had been a no-show and they gave away our room. Luckily there was one studio left, but we had paid for a two bedroom. We never received the difference in the price of the room. On top of that there were erroneous holds placed on my credit card for very large amounts. The desk staff didn't know why those holds were being placed and could not tell me when they would be removed. By the end of our trip, I had several K worth of charges placed on my credit card. We checked in twice a day to ask about them and try to clear it up. The manager always seemed to be busy and did not respond to all of our calls. By the final day, we were able to talk to the manager, who still was unable to tell us why these charges were being placed on our account, but did write us a letter stating that we were not responsible for those charges. Unfortunately, that was my travel credit card and it caused issues for the rest of our trip because I had less to spend. We were given a small resort credit for the inconvenience. This was unacceptable but at that point we just needed to be done with them. Awful experience and they lost out on a potential client for time share.
