The new owners have furnished kayaks, bikes, and even a few crab pots so you can try your hand at crabbing. But if you need a backup plan, the Crab Claw is just a mile away! There's even an outdoor fire pit to enjoy a marshmallow and hot dog roast or to warm up on unexpectedly cool evenings. This is a perfect getaway spot with a screened porch, private dock, and lots of great amenities. IMPORTANT! This property's maximum occupancy is strictly limited to 6 guests. The home was perfect for two couples, and can easily support 6 folks.Two bedrooms are masters, and the remaining bedroom is across from the "guest" bathroom. We brought our boat and went crabbing and fishing and the kids fished off the dock. The house is fully stocked with all you need. Perfect home away from home. June 2023 was our first visit to St. Michaels and loved the Crabby Cove. We returned June 2024\. This time, we encountered a large snake alive and stuck to sticky traps that worked his way out from under the stove. Based on the number of traps noted, it’s obvious that there was a problem with this rental home. Eastern Shore Vacation Rentals, who manages this property, POORLY handled this situation. Overall, did not disappoint as we were looking for a place on water; outside covered porch to help with social distancing; near to the town; and allowed pets. House met all of those requirements. There are a couple of things that could have maximized the experience in this house in particular: 1) there were some areas that could have been cleaner (kitchen rug; placemats; dining room table runner; master BR rug and master bath tub were filthy) where we removed the kitchen rug, and runner and washed the tub and napkins. 2) we would have felt more secure with a wi-fi access that required a security code; 3) there were tow issues with lightbulbs and outside swing set (which maintenance resolved) 4) there is no easy way to launch our kayaks from the piers unless it was high tide (we thought there was a launch ramp), 5) the eastern shore rental property people were not as responsive as other VRBO property managers - we sent several emails to them early on to find out about Covid related refunds; extra dog, and even Sat morning code which was sent late in the afternoon. The home is lovely with lots of space for us to spread out. The kids loved riding the bikes on the gravel road, kayaking, crab catching and fishing from the dock. (Warning, one neighbor yelled about “light pollution when my 7 & 12-year-old went fishing at 8pm with a dock light on.) We enjoyed a bonfire each night we were there that lead to more family memories. The town itself could not be any cuter! Lots of shopping and fantastic restaurants. ##### Jackie P. We used the roomy porch for this activity. The spacious cottage was more than enough for the 3 of us. We enjoyed the fire pit 2 out of 3 nights. The grill had gas and worked great. The location just outside of town was very convenient. The home is spacious and very comfortable with plenty of inside room to spread out or gather to enjoy each others' company. It was very clean throughout, comfortably furnished, and had a well-stocked kitchen. The back porch overlooking the cove was a favorite gathering spot for all.
