We loved the location as we used the St. Ignace ferry to the island. Comfortable beds and nice TV. View from the living room was fantastic to watch Lake Huron activities. The hot dogs were gourmet and delicious in the restaurant below. Perfect snack at night.
What a cute location! Close to lots of dining & shops. Beautiful view which even came equipped with binoculars. Which our 5 year old daughter was obsessed with ; )
The apartment had everything we needed and was easily walkable to cute coffee shops, restaurants, and the ferry to Mackinac. Couldn’t have asked for more!
Location was great, could walk anywhere in St Ignace. A beautiful view of the water.

Great waterfront view!
We had a great two night stay here and it was peaceful and quiet for the last weekend in October. The big windows overlooking the big lake was a beautiful view!
Property was extremely clean! Close to so many things to see and do. Lived here in the UP 35 years ago. Came back to visit and see the changes. Would definitely stay here again!
We had a great time. Tahquamenon Falls, Oswald Bear ranch, Soo Locks, Mackinac Island. We really enjoyed that we could walk to the ferry and we walked to dinner every night as well. The VRBO was in a nice location.
We were in town for a Wedding and needed a place centrally located to both the Wedding and the Reception. This flat worked out perfectly. Gorgeous view of the straights. Easy, hassle free, check in & out. Located right on the strip in downtown St Ignace. We will definitely stay at this property again.
We enjoyed our stay. Close walk to Shepler’s Ferry. Enjoyed Bouys restaurant and the Wild Blueberry. The fireworks every Saturday night in St. Ignace were visible from living room which was awesome to see. Dusty’s Dogs restaurant below was great food!!
Only con was the short twin in the bedroom was very thin and uncomfortable. My husband ended up sleeping on the couch which was more comfortable.
It was a clean property. Perfect for 2 people anymore might be crowded. We were able to walk to the ferry and most restaurants. The sunrise is beautiful. Macinac Island was disappointing but I don't like shopping.
A fabulous time, this property is perfect for exploring the area. Town is really cute with some fun spots for evenings out. Close to the island, hiking, water, sports, etc. The apartment was perfect for our family, the beds were super comfortable and the view out of the front room is just beautiful to sit and have your morning coffee. You do not hear any sounds or smell any food from the hotdog store below and our teens loved running down to grab lunch/dinner. We needed to do laundry and there isn’t a washing machine, but the laundromat is across the street and they are super friendly. Although the bathroom is on the small side, the shower is really nice. The kitchen has all the crockery you need, if you plan on doing a lot of cooking there aren’t too many pots, but it was enough for our family for some basic meals. Communication was excellent, we needed some more towels and the owner responded immediately, next day we had more towels. All in all, I would totally recommend and would come back to this place..
Overall a nice place to stay in downtown St Ignace. The apartment is in a convenient location and is as described with a lot of space. The bathroom was not well cleaned, had an off smell, and the the shower was slow draining. The windows near the stair access also did not have locks which seemed like a safety issue to us. However, the views of the lake and the location made it a good landing spot for our trip.
Property was perfect for our family of 4. It was described as it was. We had no issues except a smell from the bathroom pipes. Bed in second room was awkward so my son slept on couch (he is 6'2") and it was just a little uncomfortable for him. The hot dog joint under was great and we never had issues with that, as a matter of fact, they were very kind and knew we were there. We were pleasantly surprised at the air conditioners as we were not expecting them. Kept us comfortable. Location is key here! Walk to ferry, restaurant, lake, and shops. Quaint and cute. Appreciate the hospitality.
This place is fantastic. Great location, just a five minute walk from the ferries and shops. Parking was easy, nobody bothered us, and you’d have no idea there’s a restaurant under you. Exceptionally clean bathroom, and a cozy spot to sleep.
The owner added a couple of portable AC units, which was helpful. When we checked in, it was 80 inside.
The view of the lake is worth the visit alone. We spent an afternoon just reading and watching the ferries go in and out.
This is a prime spot for watching the fireworks on the 4th, if you enjoy doing that. They are right out the front window.
The only recommendation might be more comfy seating. The couch sits two of us comfortably, and I wished for an armchair or recliner. Maybe bring a camping chair if there’s several of you. Otherwise I’d book this place next time I’m visiting the island!
Pros: very walkable. Right downtown.
View of the sunrise over Dollar General was gorgeous.
Big apartment with comfy beds.
Kitchen and bath serviceable.
Portable air conditioners get the job done.
Cons: Upon entering the apartment we found a burning candle that set off some alarms in my brain.
Who leaves a burning candle in an empty apartment?
What are they trying to mask or hide?
The fans were great and much needed to air out the place but were filthy. I did my best to clean them up.
It was super musty at first but we blew out that nasty candle and opened all the windows we could, we cranked the fans and it cleared out in a couple hours.
.
Hand soap would have been nice. And extra kitchen towels.
Overall it was perfect for a St Ignace visit.
I liked this place. It was conveniently located, near the ferry, shops and restaurants. It was equipped with the necessities and was clean. The view was wonderful, and we got to watch a drone show and fireworks all from the comforts of the living room.
There are a couple of things to note, the temperature in the unit, was 86 degrees when we checked in. Even though there are 2 portable AC units, it took all night to cool off with fans strategically placed. The blinds on the front windows are helpful, but other insulating blinds on the other windows might help too, instead of the shear curtains.
The couch is different than what's in the picture, which was clean and comfortable. The other chairs are a nice touch, but not overly comfortable.
Overall, the place could use a little touch up on things, nothing that a handyman couldn't take care of.
If we happen to be passing through again, I would stay there. It was a good home base to work out of, as we went to the island every day, and a comfortable bed to sleep in at night.
Our family of four stayed for a long weekend at this quaint little upper level rental. It sits above an active restaurant, however that was never an issue. There is one dedicated parking space and we did get blocked in by a food delivery truck for about 15 minutes, but luckily it didn’t affect our plans.
It was clean, with nice furniture, but the place itself felt old in the sense that it is like any older U.P. homes and buildings. That was part of the draw when we rented it.
The only issue was a sewer gas smell that emanated from the front bathroom on our arrival. We contacted the owner that next morning and he had a plumber at the rental within an out of our call. The problem subsided and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
The place has a fantastic view from the front window that allows you to look out into the street and over to the water. There are blinds for privacy and to block out the city light at night.
It is minutes away from all of the docks that service the island. Very convenient.
Overall it was a nice experience and we would consider staying again the next time we visit Mackinaw.
