About this property
St. Germain Lakefront Cabin on Lost Lake - Swim, Fish, Boat, Bike, Hike & ATV
Welcome to Tabbert's Up North on Lost Lake
Welcome to our family's private lakefront cabin on beautiful Lost Lake in St. Germain, Wisconsin. We've been sharing our cabin with Northwoods vacationers since 2006. Because this is also our own Up North getaway, we take extra pride in keeping it clean, comfortable and well maintained.
What really sets Tabbert's Up North apart is the location. The cabin sits beneath towering pines only about 30 feet from Lost Lake. Unlike many Northwoods lake properties with steep hills or long stairways to the water, our property has very level frontage, making it easy to move between the cabin, yard, private dock and sandy swimming area.
The shoreline has a gradual sandy swimming area directly in front of the cabin, perfect for cooling off, playing in the water or simply spending the afternoon at the lake.
Enjoy Lost Lake Right Outside Your Door
Lost Lake is a beautiful 541-acre recreational lake offering excellent fishing, swimming, boating and water sports.
Fish for bluegill, perch, crappie and bass right from the private dock, or head onto the lake in search of walleye, northern pike and musky. For anglers, we also provide a fish-cleaning house, making it easy to clean the day's catch.
A variety of watercraft is included with your stay:
• Aluminum fishing boat • Three adult kayaks • Two children's kayaks • Canoe • Life jackets • Private dock for your own boat
One of our favorite Lost Lake traditions is taking the boat to Murmuring Waters Lodge, a classic Northwoods bar and restaurant right on the lake. Dock the boat, grab lunch, dinner or a drink, and enjoy a relaxing cruise back to the cabin.
Three Bedrooms and Two Full Bathrooms
The cabin comfortably accommodates up to six guests and includes three bedrooms and two full bathrooms, a feature that's especially convenient for families.
Sleeping arrangements include:
• Two bedrooms with queen beds • One bedroom with a twin-over-full bunk bed
Inside you'll find a comfortable open living and dining area, full kitchen, central air conditioning, Wi-Fi, indoor wood-burning stove, two recliners, TV, books and games.
Spend Your Days Outside
The outdoor space is really what an Up North vacation is all about.
Along with the private dock and included watercraft, you'll have:
• Very level lake frontage • Sandy swimming area • Campfire ring • Picnic table • Charcoal grill • Fish-cleaning house • Plenty of room to enjoy the lake and towering Northwoods pines
Wake up with coffee by the water, fish from the dock, spend the afternoon swimming or kayaking, take an evening boat ride and finish the day around the campfire.
Bring the ATV, UTV or Snowmobile
Tabbert's Up North isn't only a summer destination. The cabin has direct access to the area's ATV/UTV and snowmobile trail systems, so you can leave directly from the property and explore miles of Northwoods trails.
That makes the cabin a great home base for spring and fall ATV/UTV trips as well as winter snowmobile weekends in one of Wisconsin's premier riding areas.
Hiking, Biking and Thousands of Acres to Explore
We're surrounded by some of the best outdoor recreation in northern Wisconsin.
The nearby Northern Highland-American Legion State Forest encompasses more than 200,000 acres of Northwoods lakes, forests and recreational land, with opportunities for hiking, paddling, biking, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing and exploring.
Nearby Shannon Lake Trail and Fern Ridge Tral offers scenic hiking through the forest, and cyclists can explore the Heart of Vilas County paved trail system, with more than 50 miles of paved trails connecting St. Germain, Sayner, Boulder Junction, Manitowish Waters and surrounding Northwoods destinations.
Whether you want to spend the week on Lost Lake or explore someplace different every day, there's no shortage of outdoor options.
Great Northwoods Dining Close By
You can enjoy the quiet of a private lake cabin without being far from great food and classic Northwoods restaurants.
Popular nearby favorites include Sayner Pub, Fibbers Bar & Restaurant and The Hillside Tavern & Grill, along with many more restaurants and supper clubs in St. Germain, Sayner, Eagle River and the surrounding area.
Or leave the car parked and boat across Lost Lake to Murmuring Waters Lodge.
A Great Location for Exploring the Northwoods
St. Germain puts you within easy reach of Sayner, Eagle River, Boulder Junction, Minocqua and Arbor Vitae, so the cabin makes an excellent home base for exploring the Northwoods.
Beyond the lake, you'll find golf courses, paved biking trails, hiking trails, ATV/UTV and snowmobile trails, supper clubs, shops, family attractions and thousands of acres of public forest.
