The beach is just steps away from the front door! As far as location, you cannot beat the walkable proximity to local restaurants, bars, coffee shops and attractions! The kitchen has all of the essentials for a comfortable stay, including all cooking basics (olive oil, salt, pepper), plenty of dish ware, coffee machine (with filters and ground coffee provided), microwave, stove/oven, big fridge and brand new dishwasher! Washer and dryer as well as all supplies have been stocked for your convenience. Linens and towels are included. Enjoy the BBQ grill, situated on the private patio just outside the back door! Just a few feet away and your toes are in the sand! You can't beat the value! There is another unit situated on the property towards the back where we host short-term rental guests. They have their own space completely separate from this home. THE LAYOUT - Unit A has a solid 2/1 layout: BEDROOMS: One bedroom has a Queen bed and the other a Double. BATHROOM: is situated between the 2 bedrooms. The bathroom features a walk in shower. ADDITIONAL SLEEPING: Full Sofabed SECURITY DEPOSIT: In lieu of a traditional security deposit charge or authorization hold for a large sum, we will instead charge a one-time non-refundable incidentals fee to your stay of $99\. This fee acts as insurance for minor damages and covers you up to a max of $1000 of damage. You may elect to increase your incidentals fee for more coverage ($99 for $1000, $149 for $1500, $199 for $2000 and so on and so forth). \*IMPORTANT: Guests must report to us any damage that has taken place during their stay before checkout, otherwise the incidental fee coverage is null and void. In this case, we reserve the right to charge the full amount of repairing or replacing the damaged items to you. Your insurance coverage amount ($500, $1000, $1500, etc) is not the max that you are responsible for. If damages exist beyond your coverage amount we will document this with photos and professional estimates of repair, and bill you for the repairs or replacements. Just a 10 minute walk up A1A is the pier where you can park and go fishing or enjoy the weekly Wednesday farmers market from 9am-12pm. Getting Around: We recommend renting a car to get around, or heading over to Drifters 2 blocks away and renting bikes! If you see them outside, they are just on site to do their job and keep the home in its best condition for the enjoyment of our guests. Guests must be 21 or older to book. There is another home situated on the property where we host short-term rental guests. They have their own space completely separate from this home. It is important to note that the driveway is shared with the other unit on the premises. You may of course park in the driveway and it is LIKELY that you will be able to, but please remember, there may be guests in the other unit who brought a car and need to park as well. Please be considerate of each other. Street parking is FREE on 5th Street so this is another excellent and convenient option, located right outside the front door. Please remember that you're staying in a house, not a hotel. Please treat the space with respect. If any problems arise, we will do our best to take action ASAP, but there is no one living on site 24/7. Pack N Play Available Upon Request with 48 hours notice. One dog maximum is allowed - no weight limit. Our dog rent fee is $30.00/Night, $175.00/Week, with a maximum of $300.00/Month. \-This fee is added on to your total after booking confirmation. \-The fee doesn't cover damage caused by your pet. We will provide photos and a handyman quote to fairly assess repair charges. \-Pets must be fully housebroken, freshly bathed prior to arrival and treated with flea and tick meds within 30 days of check in. \-Please share with us any details regarding weight, age, if crated when left alone, if allowed on furniture. If you are bringing a dog, please reach out to us directly about our policy and fees! LOST AND FOUND ITEMS: We charge a $50 minimum to ship forgotten items, which must be paid in advance. The inside was clean, however there was a very large roach that was found in the living room on our second day. The house is very close to the beach, but also a high traffic area on the dead end street with the local surfers.The air conditioning was a game changer for us. We prefer to be cool and comfortable during the heat of summer, however this house had a sign above the thermostat that stated do not run the air conditioner below 74 or the unit will freeze up, but the unit froze up anyway even after following the instructions. Temps inside the house got up to 80 that day. We could not put the temp. below 75 without the unit freezing up. We like to be comfortable in our environment in summer, therefore this house will not be on our list of VRBO's to re-visit. The one thing to note is that the bridge to the beach on 5th was out due to hurricane damage. They were working on it though and it should hopefully reopen soon. Pros: This house was in a great location…less than 15 min drive to historic district (during xmas holidays). It’s on a dead end street, very quiet and yes, probably 100 steps to the beach. I love that the house, Beach & town are all pet friendly. Kitchen is very well equipped. The house is small, but spacious & comfy. Nice furniture & decor. Great water pressure & hot water & loved that they provided plenty of body wash, shampoo & conditioner. The house itself has its cracks & cobwebs, but overall clean & well maintained. Cons: not enough towels. 3 of us stayed here and we were provided 2 very cheap, thin & small bath towels; plenty of hand towels, but not enough to shower - had to grab a beach towel. Toilet paper.. for the love of Pete, our bottoms would greatly appreciate good quality toilet paper. The paper they provided was horribly thin & like sand paper…no lie when I say my bottom was irritated :( Then, there’s the master bed…my husband & I slept bad every night. It caves in the middle & very uncomfortable, overall. My back was screaming the whole time. The Bed in 2nd room was fine according to my daughter. No throws/blankets. The days we were there it was cold & we’re not huge fans of the heater, so we kind of struggled bc there were no extra blankets. Also, pictures in the description shows grass in the backyard…there is none…it’s dirt & one of the reasons I chose this property was bc of the grass for my small dog. Lots of rules posted throughout the house & that takes away from the relax - homey feeling…” if you do this, you’ll get charged…if you don’t do that, you’ll get charged”. I’ve stayed at numerous properties & I’ve never seen this. I understand it’s someone’s property, but I was uneasy the whole time that I’d do something wrong. OVERALL, the house is GREAT. A few minor changes can go really far & make for a better experience. I recommend it - just plan on taking toilet paper & towels! ##### nancy r.
