Unit 112 itself was comfortable and had everything we needed for a lovely stay.
However, we were not aware there would be construction renovations on the building every day this week. In fact, this construction has been an ongoing thing for several months. Every day there was tile cutting and grinding outside the front door, and jackhammering on the floor above us. Additionally, there was renovation in one complete stairwell making it unusable and more hammering to remove stucco from the opposite end of the building, blocking a beach access. Renovations and repairs are necessary, however, we were not aware this would be happening nor the extent.
We reached out to the hosts to request a discount and their response was a basic apology that the noise was affecting us, but we’ve yet to hear about any kind of discount or refund.
We’ve stayed in this condominium complex with a group of family and friends for more than 30 years. This year, by far, was the worst experience, not because of the unit itself, but rather the ongoing noises, hammering, cloud of concrete dust by our unit door and dozens of construction workers on the property daily from 8:30 - 3:30/4:00.
We hope to hear a response from the host/owners to at least be compensated for the inconvenience.
