Upon entering, you and your guests will immediately be smitten by the bright interior, stylish decor, and unique spiral staircase leading to the upper level. The vaulted ceilings throughout give this home away an airy feel that everyone will enjoy and the enclosed backyard will be just the place to sip an evening cocktail as the family dogs run around. After a full day of exploring the city, there will be no need to eat in town, as the chef of the group can easily whip up tasty meals in the fully equipped kitchen before everyone settles down for a movie night in the living area boasting a flatscreen TV. What's nearby: There will be no delay in getting right into the heart of the city, as this home away sits a block from the adorable shops and restaurants that line Highway A1A. When you want to venture out a bit, fun for the whole family awaits at Ripley's Believe It or Not! (half-mile), Castillo de San Marcos National Monument (three-fourths of a mile), the Lightner Museum (one-and-a-half miles), and Ponce de Leon's Fountain of Youth Archaeological Park (half-mile) just to name a few. Plus, simply walking along the water of the Matanzas River will be a great way to use an afternoon, as a plethora of shops and attractions line the bank. All non residents must park at the parking garage and not on the streets between November 14-January 10th. They will issue out $100 fine for violations. There will be 2 garage parking passes in a drawer in the kitchen. these passes do have to be returned before check in or there is a $250 fine. The area is peaceful and friendly. I found it to be very clean with new appliances. One bathroom is small, but the other has a huge tub. the loft is very cute. Everything is within a mile walk. House has a quiet back patio and friendly front porch. The heating /cooling system works well BUT when outside temperatures fall below 40, the floors radiate cold and the heating can't keep up. Above 40 outside, t's very cozy.The only other slight drawback is during the 3rd week of February the Catherdral Festival is happening two doors away. If a lot of noise bothers you in the hours before midnight, you might want to choose a different location that week. ##### William K. Very close to all the shops, restaurants and attractions. Not a bad drive to the beach and other activities as well. Also close to the grocery store. The wi-fi worked great and loved that it had a washer and dryer… a very cozy environment for two people. Unfortunately the only negative was the backyard. We brought our dog with us and we’re so looking forward to the fenced backyard to let him out in, but as soon as we looked out the back door, the backyard was very rundown and weedy. There was also a massive beehive with 100s of bees in the bottom of the tree. We could not utilize the backyard at all and that was one of the main reasons we rented this house for our dog. If we knew the backyard was like that we would definitely not have picked this place so some attention really needs to be given to the backyard. It was in the perfect spot for our time in St Augustine. The place was equipped with everything we needed, wish we had more time to enjoy the backyard or the front porch. Easy walk to the historic area and lots of great little coffee shops near by. Only complaint is the one small shower. I must have missed that in the description but not such a big deal to keep us away. Very homey and clean. The only parking is on the street so when there is a parking ban you have to park in the town parking garage (.40 miles away). I wasn’t notified of that until i arrived- some things are out of the renter’s control. The road ban is middle of Nov- Jan. FYI. Fortunately it’s not complete 24 hour ban. This property was even better than expected! The location was perfect, everything was walkable, and the neighborhood was quaint and quite. Property is just perfect for exploring St. Augustine! We saw all the highlights by walking everywhere. Quiet, charming, and friendly neighborhood location that is easy walking distance to restaurants, shops, and many historic/tourist sites. Street parking was not an issue. The shared bathroom with the shower is very tiny, but the bathroom attached to one of the bedrooms (with a bath tub) is spacious. Kitchen is well stocked. ##### Kelly F. We enjoyed the walkability, historic character of the location and the fenced yard for our pup. As there were only two of us, the space was more than adequate. Two main level bedrooms and 1 1/2 baths (one ensuite). The stairs to the loft bedroom are very narrow and steep, with no upper bath facilities. The kitchen was well equipped and we appreciate the inclusion of some beach chairs, towels and an umbrella with the property. Looks like it does in the pictures. Only exception was the backyard was so overgrown my little dog got lost in the grass 😂. Yard should have been mowed before we arrived. Guest bathroom VERY small and that is the only bath with shower. Master bath only had a bathtub but was great for my toddler. Fans in each room would be a nice touch but I brought a very small one of my own. Not closet space in the guest bedroom downstairs (it is locked for owner supplies). Floors are VERY creaky and noisy. My stepdad got horrible allergies when sleeping in the back guest bedroom. He thinks maybe cats have stayed here and he is severely allergic. Maybe mention on the website that cats have stayed here just as a warning? Overall this house worked for us. My little girl was obsessed with the spiral staircase and loft area. ##### Brittany L.
