Main River Mermaid Sleeps 8 kayaks for everyone. Gulf access for scalloping

Main River Mermaid is a 1432 sq ft house with 3 bedrooms (upstairs), 1 and 1/2 bath, home directly on the Weeki Wachee River and around the corner from hospital hole. Prime location!
This home has an oversized screened in porch just steps from jumping in, launching kayaks or taking off on your boat. This porch area has a table that sits 6 and also 2 couches with 2 chairs. Do some early morning yoga or just enjoy the beauty of the river as manatees, otters, and all types of fish swim by. If you're lucky you just might see Chip the dolphin as you enjoy your morning coffee. You can't ask for a better place to people watch.
This area tends to be the favorite spot of past guests who spend hours enjoying the river, nature preserve and all it has to offer while they grill out.

Paddle up river to find the preserve untouched and just amazing, If you take an early morning kayak trip you just might see the deer crossing the river.
You can also paddle to Rogers Park and stop at Upper Deck for lunch.  
If you are adventurous, you can explore old Florida which is where the Weeki Wachee River and Mud River join.

Bringing your boat? You'll have access to the boat ramp at Roger's Park not far from the house. We have 2 docks that can accommodate 2 boats which is perfect for scallop season or just a fun filled weekend.

The surrounding area has so much to offer, Njoy Spirits Distitary, Pine Island (beautiful sunsets), Bayport Pier (good fishing), Linder Pendersen Park (great lookout tower) are some of many.
You'll be 56 miles from Bush Gardens, Tampa Airport and downtown Tampa, Florida. Disney World in Orlando is 91 miles away.
Lego Land in Winter Haven, FL is 69 miles away.
If you're looking for closer trips enjoy Crystal River downtown area, Tarpon Springs Sponge Docks, Clearwater Beach, and Dunedin downtown or Honeymoon Island for breath taken beaches.

FYI - This home is not a party house. Neither the Owners or the Neighbors will allow excessive visitors or noisy partying.

Stunning home- just beautiful. Loved everything about it, so tastefully decorated and clean. Kitchen is beautiful and fun to cook in.Comfortable beds. Screened in porch was wonderful, with a great tv. Kayaks in great shape that were easy to get in and out of the water with the steps. We used the fire pit every night and sat around it in comfortable chairs. Karen is a very kind and thoughtful owner who responds immediately. Just a perfect vacation for us,

Everything was stellar! Porch is where we found ourselves most of the time, it is huge and very accommodating! Not to mention the water just off the dock is plenty deep for a plunge! All appliances and AC in perfect working order! Can't wait to return and possibly even rebook this same location!

What a great place to stay with all the amenities of home and being able to enjoy the beautiful river view from the back porch and yard, paradise for sure. Karen and Alex are excellent hosts and are always available to assist with any questions or issues. Also, it's really cool to see dolphins and manatees swimming in the river. We rented a go boat and that made it a nice way to see the river at a leisurely pace. Can't wait for our next adventure at this river home.

Everything about this place was great. Karen was so good with communication and details. We stayed over Christmas, and we were very excited to see the house had a Christmas tree. We love this location being so close to hospital hole and we saw plenty of Manatees.

This is the second time we’ve stayed at the mermaid house and it is five star all the way best location on the river. The house is been recently updated and it’s fabulous. You won’t be disappointed.

Best getaway spot ever!

This house was amazing for my family. We got to enjoy kayaking, manatees, and even a dolphin came and jumped right in front of the deck for us! The house was super clean and comfortable. The host was amazing as well she has excellent communication and wonderful recommendations for the area. I cannot wait to go back and visit it again.

Amazing spot on the river!

We had a wonderful stay. You have direct access to the river. The kitchen was furnished in a way we could cook meals with no problems. Forewood was provided. Can't wait stay again in the future. We enjoyed watching the wildlife from our backyard. We saw manatees, deer and a variety of birds.

Terrific house!

Karen was a wonderful host. The house was exactly as described and the location was perfect. She was super responsive and even sent us updates and ideas of what to do while we were there. Would definitely go again. DO bring bug spray as suggested…being on the river means there are no see ums everywhere.

Amazing Place

The Main River Mermaid is located on a Beautiful river that is spring fed which makes it a great, cool ,and relaxing place to enjoy the water. The house was very roomy and had a great screened in porch. The sleeping quarters were very comfortable and the kitchen had everything you needed. But the backyard made this stay unforgettable with the sightings of manatees and other wildlife. A must stay. We will be planning a revisit!

Magnificent Mermaid and Manatee Getaway Spot

We've stayed at multiple places in Weeki Wachee and this was, by far, the best. The location is unbeatable -- right on the river so clear waters and close to Hospital Hole. The outdoor area was lovely and, as nice as the inside was, between that and the enormous Florida room/screened-in porch, most of our time at the house was spent in the fresh air. The bedrooms are all comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed. Our host was attentive to questions and checked-in regularly to make sure everything was going well. The house was spotless. Would definitely like to make this our new go-to spot on the river.

Location, Location, Location

This property is perfectly nestled along the main part of the river, just around the corner from hospital hole. Great dock and porch area. Our children really enjoyed the rope swing ( I think that made the trip for them). We saw manatees every day both in the morning as they made their way up river and in the afternoons as they made their way back down.

Beautiful, comfortable, relaxing!

We stayed here for a little under a week over spring break, and couldn’t have been happier. The house was spacious for 4 adults and 3 kids, very clean, and well maintained. But our favorite part of the property was the lanai and river access. It was so relaxing and peaceful sitting out back enjoying the wildlife (countless birds, fish, and manatees), and watching people paddle by. We would definitely return!!

One of the Best!

We have rented houses in the past off of Weeki Watchee Springs. I must say this house hands down was the best! Clean and comfortable. Fully stocked. Beds were all very comfortable. Thank you Summer for everything and John for opening your home to us. We look forward to staying again in the future.
