About this property

Historic South Hill Craftsman / Updated & Refined

  • Welcome to a thoughtfully updated and beautifully preserved 1904 Craftsman, where historic character meets modern comfort. This well-cared-for home is designed for guests who appreciate original details, quality furnishings, and a peaceful place to relax while visiting Spokane.

With five bedrooms, six beds, and accommodations for up to 10 guests, the home works especially well for families, professionals, and groups looking for a comfortable stay together. Original woodwork, antique lighting, a classic clawfoot tub, and a baby grand piano give the home character you won't find in a typical rental. We take great care in maintaining the property and welcome guests who will enjoy and treat the home with the same consideration.

The well-equipped kitchen features Viking appliances, granite countertops, and a nice space for preparing meals at home. Gather on the welcoming front porch, relax on the back patio, or enjoy a quiet moment on the private upper balcony. Throughout the property, there are spaces to spend time together as well as comfortable places to retreat and unwind.

Outside, the established yard features seasonal cherries, pears, herbs, mature landscaping, and shade beneath a graceful weeping willow, with solar lighting adding to the ambiance in the evening.

A few important details about this historic home:

This is a multi-level 1904 property with steeper-than-average stairs. The primary sleeping areas are on the upper levels, with an additional sleeping space in the basement, so the home's layout may not be suitable for guests with limited mobility.

There are two bathrooms. The second-floor bathroom features a compact clawfoot soaking tub with a handheld sprayer, while the main-floor bathroom contains the home's only traditional shower. As is common in historic homes, both bathrooms are smaller than those typically found in newer construction.

The home does not have central air conditioning. Window A/C units are provided in select bedrooms, and the third-floor suite has a portable A/C unit. Because heat naturally rises, the third floor can become warmer during periods of high summer temperatures. Guests visiting during particularly hot weather should take this into consideration when planning sleeping arrangements.

Located on Spokane's lower South Hill near downtown, the home provides convenient freeway access in an established residential neighborhood. Nearby you'll find a neighborhood park and playground, bluff hiking trails, Manito Park, and the beautiful tree-lined streets for which Spokane's South Hill is known.

If you're looking for a peaceful, distinctive Spokane stay and appreciate the character and care of a historic home, we'd be happy to welcome you.
