The rooms are small but very clean, newly remodeled. The property needs some blackout curtains as the outdoor lights are very bright and the shades don’t really block the room from being fully lit in the evenings.

The Queen City Inn was unexpected. It was cute and had everything we needed. The space had a full-size fridge and mini dishwasher. The sitting area had a nice couch and the bed was comfy. It was nicely updated and had an easy check-in and out. We will be going back!

We stayed twice - once at the beginning of a 2 week trip and once at the end. Both times it was near perfect for us. The whole unit is brand new from windows to bathroom - and done well (e.g. new quality appliances and fixtures; tilework, floors, trim all good quality and workmanship, etc.). Nothing junky. We liked that you park right outside the room since we bring in a lot of stuff. No noisy neighbors and far enough off the street - so no traffic noise. We would stay there again.

Great little spot, walkable to downtown, clean and updated and had everything needed in the little kitchen. Walls a tad thin, but still a great option right in Spearfish!

What a great place for enjoying Spearfish and all this area has to offer. Right downtown, and a short drive from Spearfish Canyon. Read the description, check out the photos—you’ll know if this place is for you. It’s all exactly as advertised. Clean, modern, comfortable. Snug, but cute and charming. We stayed four nights and were very happy here. Basically, they’ve taken an old motel and heroically restored it into VRBO-like lodgings. (No management on sight, but check in very smooth and emails answered promptly.) I’d definitely stay here again when in Spearfish.

I had a nice stay at Queen City. it was quiet and clean. the bed was comfortable. My recommendations are: Add a full length mirror, supply a foldable luggage rack, supply a clothing iron and lastly, add a clock of some sort. A must is a non-slip mat in the tub. It was very slippery in the tub.

This is a great place… except… the walls are so thin I could hear the neighbor snoring and their conversations clearly. If you have a quiet neighbor, this place is great! Clean, convenient and comfortable!

Nice place, needs a bit better housekeeping.

Room was nice. Only 2 issues and they were kind of minor. Floor was dirty as in small particles of dirt & dust, just needs to be thoroughly mopped and the outside door was hard to open. It just doesn’t sit right in the frame so you had to pull it tight to get it to release. Bed was comfortable, bathroom was nice, lots of open space, slept well and it’s pretty quiet.

Great location for our needs. Nicely appointed however the bed, pillows and sheets aren't great quality. We also didn't receive the coffee that was meant to be included with our stay, we were told they were out of stock. There is a coffee shop across the street however it was very busy. It is a small complex so you can hear your neighbors and the road noise, we brought our own noise machine so were fine, but that would be a nice addition to include in each room. The rooms were very convenient with parking right outside your door so if easy access is important to you this place is a great choice. We would stay here again, we'd just be sure to bring our own pillows.

I can’t say anything bad about this place. It is small room but they made good use of the available space. I would give it a 8 out of 10 rating and not a 9.4 that I see on Expedia. Walls were thin and you could hear the tv start in the room on either side, but it is an old motor lodge that was tastefully updated and you can’t tear down walls and have the original structure. A little pricey for what you get but that might just be always the case in a small tourist town with limited options.
