Really hate complaining, but I wish we had known the following prior to arrival. First we were told there would be a brand new keurig coffee maker waiting for us. There was no keurig. All we brought were pods. We were looking forward to putting on some sports games on the tv in the pool area, but there was no tv. Just wires hanging out of the wall. There is a steam shower in the pool area, but it produced no steam at all. Also, the dehumidifier in the pool area was not working.
Two of the ceiling fans in the main room didn’t work. We noticed the cover for the air filter was dirty so we opened it up to find the most disgusting black air filter I have ever seen! Scary to think we were breathing air in the house from that filter. Several of the windows throughout the house are missing blinds. Affected our privacy at night
We complained via email to the owners and also notified VRBO that we were not happy with the condition of the property. All VRBO would do is move us to another property, but no other property had an indoor pool. We had booked this property 18 months ago mainly for the pool so we declined packing up and moving.
The owner must’ve seen my email because the next morning a repairman showed up to look at the dehumidifier, but was unable to fix it. The repairman changed the air filter and said he also had never seen a filter so disgusting. The keurig machine was dropped off finally, but we didn’t appreciate having all this traffic coming in and out of the house while we were trying to relax. All of these maintenance issues could be fixed if they would just put the property out of order for a couple of weeks. Would prevent guests like myself complaining about these issues.
Overall we were really looking forward to staying at the property as presented online. The property is run down and in desperate need of maintenance. The pictures and description of the property on VRBO do not represent how the property is in real time. If we had known about these issues before arriving we would have cancelled our reservation and figured something else out. Based on some of the other reviews of this property, some of these issues are not new and some are over a year old.
I waited two weeks after departing to hear from the owner, but never have. Some sort of compensation was definitely warranted, especially for how expensive the property is. Neither the service or the condition were acceptable. We will never return.
